Ride is a loop
Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7 to congregate and call down our ancestors and animal guides. Announcements at 7:25. Ride off into the night at 7:30
10:42 PM
End location: Poet’s Beach
My name is Conor (@groundhogzday) and it is my distinct pleasure to lead Mellow Monday with my first ride- The Let it Go Ride! Have you been through a breakup recently… or at literally any point in your life… that just rocked you and left you picking up the pieces? Whether you initiated the breakup or got broken up with, the emotional aftershocks can last weeks, months, years… a lifetime. Unless, of course, we actually process it and let it go. In the past few years, I went through a separation and eventual divorce from someone I once thought I’d be with until I punched out of this mortal realm. But alas, the universe had other eventualities in store for me. This year, I broke up with my first real significant other since the divorce, and although I initiated it, it left me raw, reflective, and re-evaluating what I’m looking for in a partner… and in life. Awkward. It occurred to me that I carry a lot of unresolved heartache and just… keep it moving. Maybe you do too. In fact, I carry it in a very literal sense. I keep notes and letters from exes. Tucked away in my closet, they radiate the energy of yesteryear, collecting dust from the weeks I go without thinking of those who wrote them. Why do I keep them? Is it in case we get back together so I can pass them down to our grandkids? I don’t want to get back together with any of these people. Is it so when they cart me to a memory care facility I can have a robot caretaker read them to me and remind me that I once enjoyed intense romance with lovely women before the microplastic poisoning-induced dementia took hold? Is it to document that I was once loved, just in case they find me dead in my apartment, my cat sustaining itself on my rotten guts? I mean… maybe. But I’ve decided something. I’m going to burn them. And I think you should burn yours with me. I think we should burn them together. As a community. Let go. Make room. Say goodbye. Bike with me from Abernathy Elementary to Poet’s Beach, where we will ceremonially burn our exes’ notes and letters while listening to Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against the Machine. The ride soundtrack will be a mix of breakup songs, getting-over-them songs, fuck-them songs, and probably some 90s jungle DnB because that’s just a phase I’m going through right now. Please feel encouraged to reach out with song recommendations via Instagram or when we meet up at the school. There will be a store stop along the way for anyone who needs White Claw, a dry turkey sandwich, whatever your healing journey requires. You don’t have to burn anything. You don’t have to say anything. You can just come on the ride and intentionally let go of whatever you’re holding onto that no longer serves you. Maybe it’s that job you got let go from. Let that shit go. Maybe it’s that friendship that drifted for no particular reason. Let that shit go. Maybe it’s the filmmaking career you were absolutely certain you were going to have when you were 20. Let that shit go. Also, it’s all welcome. Cry, scream, shout, laugh, curse, sing. Whatever shows up for you, we will accept and embrace it as a community. Join me, your first-time ride leader Conor @groundhogzday, @nakedheartspdx, and the whole damn gang on Monday, April 13 at Abernathy Elementary, where we’ll come together as a community of fun-loving cyclists and support one another in letting it go- all of it. - Meet at 7, intros at 7:25 and ride at 7:30p.m.,

Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 10:30 AM
Meeting at 10:30 rolling at 11:00
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Come help me move from NW to Lents! I will be moving from my apartment building to my partners house. The apartment has secure access, so if you could RSVP that would help me get you in. Enter from the Hoyt side of the building, if I'm not there, the lobby can let you in. Just say you're here for "Cody's bike move." If that doesn't work you can also round the corner on 10th and shout through the gate, and someone will let you in. Bikes will be parked in the courtyard and whale ferry boxes down an elevator. Once we're loaded up whale head south east, make a pitstop at SE Scottie's to grab a few pies for later. Then take the long road to Lents.

Movie filmed in Portland and having its first showing at the Hollywood Theatre!
Revolution Hall, 1300 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97214
Meet on the wide patio on the west side of the building overlooking the adjacent grassy field
Tom Howe
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 5:00 PM
Meet at 5:00pm, ride at 5:30pm
End location: Hollywood Theatre
The movie "A Simple Machine" was filmed entirely in the Portland area and is having its premiere here at the Hollywood Theatre. This 5.5 mile group ride goes by some of the filming locations in the movie before arriving at the Hollywood Theatre for the showing. The movie's director Mark Alan Hoffman will be with us, and he will explain the locations and take questions at each stop on the ride. This will be a "party pace" ride at about 8 MPH to accommodate everyone. And everyone is welcome on the ride even if you do not have a ticket for this showing which is part of the Panorama Film Festival. There are several free tickets that will be raffled off after we arrive at the theatre. The movie is based on the book by Evan P. Schneider, and several signed copies of the book will be part of the raffle. Starring Richard Blackmon in a breakout lead role, "A Simple Machine" follows Nick Allander as he tries to figure out his life’s direction during the late stages of the pandemic. A recent college grad, he makes a series of radically frugal lifestyle choices and goes off-grid to get out of debt. He’s unable to let his girlfriend-practically-fiancée in on his plans, forcing a difficult choice between a simple life on his bike or committing to the woman he loves.

Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements around 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements by 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Live Location: https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it’s safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Monthly ladies only ride (trans ladies this means you too!) This ride is "no dudes, no e-bikes, no offense". I welcome e-bikes on the many other rides I organize, but they are not a good fit for this ride. We always meet at the northern end of the trolley trail at SE 17th Avenue & SE St Andrews Drive, across from the Goodwill Bins and very close to the Springwater Trail - about a half mile from the Orange Line MAX (Johnson Creek/Tacoma stop). We're usually a small group of 4-6-8 riders. Our pace will be approximately 12-14mph, slower if it's super wet or on hillz. Please stay behind (or beside) me so I may set our pace. If even one rider goes off the front, it's contagious and soon we're dropping folks, which is the opposite of what our chill squad is about. Our rest stops will be at parks with bathrooms and water spigots. Bring the snacks you’ll need for the day, along with a spare tube (even if you ride tubeless or don't know how to fix a flat). We'll plan to do our "Hidden Falls" route: 30 miles, 1300' gain, all paved except path into Hidden Falls, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48697900 OR we can all decide together at the start to do one of these instead if that's preferred: Ladies Lake O, 21 miles, 1800' gain, paved NEW! https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53640049 Eastside River Loop, 23 miles, 1020' gain, includes a mile hike-a-bike section https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53012294 Happy Valley Industrial, 25 miles, 1000' gain, all paved Best on Sundays https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52585762 Salish Ponds, 27 miles, 500' gain, all paved except for gravel path into Salish Park Great for rainy days https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51303515 East to Binford Trail, 22 miles, 600' gain, all paved except for 1/2 mile path Springwater Trail to a gorgeous trail in the woods https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51201436 Aldercrest Classic, 20 miles, 800' gain, all paved The route that started it all! https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49133783 West Riverside Loop, 23 miles, 1300' gain, less than 2 miles on wooded paths Not great for rainy days, starts with a climb https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44932165 Happy Valley Cutties, 17 miles, 600' gain, less than 2 miles on gravel paths Features some strange but fun nature cut throughs https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43720667 East to Boring, 35 miles, 700' gain, all paved Our longest ride, great for rainy days as we can easily cut it short https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42299988 Oregon City Viewpoints, 25 miles, 1200' gain, all paved Views and car-free Waterboard Park, not great for rainy days https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42176352

The Portland United Bikepackers is a group of people who like to ride bikes on dirt, gravel, rock, or road, and take their camping gear with them. We have a listserv where we invite others to pedal, ask a question, or share a story. Camping trips are encouraged but single day adventures are appreciated too. We're dirt cruisers, not racers; our pace is laid back. Our group is made up of multiple genders. All experience levels are welcome. We're having a meet & ride for new and existing members on Sunday, April 19 from 10am to noon. We'll hang out a bit, eat snacks, and go on a mixed terrain ride in the greater Mt Tabor area. There will be asphalt, gravel, grass, chunky concrete, and if this rain keeps up, a modest amount of mud. It will be sort of like a real bike packing trip, save the camping and leaving town part. Mia and Bruce will be your hosts and ride leaders. We'll meet rain or shine near the basketball court at Clinton City Park, just west of SE Clinton Street and SE 58th Ave. If it rains, we'll be under the eaves at Atkinson Elementary school. If you can't make the event, but want to get involved, join our listserv. Details at https://terrapintales.wordpress.com/portland-bikepackers-list/

This will be an informal after party - please maintain a respectful and responsible atmosphere. **Please reach out if you would like to help lead or cork during the ride!** Exact route details will be shared with riders before we depart. This is a no-drop, easy pace ride - nobody will be left behind. Ride at your own risk and watch where you’re going. Be careful. Be sober. Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:00 PM
Actually we leave at 7:30 now…it’s too cold to hang around

Meet at 6:30, ride at 7
A chill ride for the fair weather folks. If it's raining, I'll be inside crafting instead. No music or route or theme or store stop planned. We'll see what the group wants to do, and default to cruising around bike lanes. Banned riders are banned here. Do not touch other people or their stuff without consent. Please don't smoke near the group. If there are skaters, we'll loop back to the start.
