RSVP HERE: https://smvmt.us/modasignup** In December, Portland City Council plans to reach an agreement with new billionaire-Blazers owner Tom Dundon in order to renovate the Moda Center. The expected deal will cost Portland and Oregon taxpayers over $800 million over 20 years with no private money coming from Dundon. Because billionaire Dundon is threatening to move the Portland Trail Blazers out of our city, politicians are moving quickly to give away hundreds of millions of dollars with nothing in return. But the Blazers are our team, and we also deserve a city with functioning schools, parks, and roads. As Trail Blazers fans and taxpayers, we deserve a fair deal that keeps the Blazers in Portland and doesn't bankrupt our city. On Saturday, September 26th, we're hosting the Moda Center 500: a bike relay and parade celebrating the team we love and calling out billionaire extortionists. We're bringing together Blazers fans, students, teachers, union leaders, and city council candidates together to demand Tom Dundon pay his fair share of the Moda Center renovation, and declare our public subsidies require public returns not blank checks. If Portland City Council cannot make a fair deal for Portlanders by December, they must delay their agreement until we have a proposal that doesn't shutter schools nor close parks, but actually lets our city thrive. Join us at the Moda Center on Saturday, September 26th at noon for speeches from community organizations, unions, and city council candidates. The bike race/relay/parade will begin at 1pm.
