. 🚲 🚲 🚲 .. 👀 … 🎨 🖌️ …. 🐦‍⬛ …….Let’s go have a WHEELy ARTfully CROWtastic time! This is the last weekend before the Crows are taken away on the 30th to be auctioned off, raising funds to benefit Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. If you’re not sure what CROW ART we're talking about, check out social media posts searching for "Wildwood Follow The Crows PDX". The creativeness is mind-blowing and BikeLoud advocates want to help you get to it more SAFELY! Our friendly “Know Your Greenways” guru, Tom Howe, who also did the routes to the Caroline Cats, each annual Winter Light Festival, and many other fun rides has created a 9-mile safe route for us to 25 of the *30 sites. *For routes to the other 5 crows outside of the downtown area, search the Ride With GPS website or app for “Follow The Crows”. ———> OVERVIEW This ride is FREE, and ALL WHEELS WELCOME (except fuel-powered, of course). While this event is FAMILY-FRIENDLY and we’ll ride at an EASY-PACE, we recommend that younger children ride comfortably and safely on their parent’s bike during the parts we share the road with cars in downtown and Pearl areas. We thank everyone in advance for doing their part to make the space comfortable and INCLUSIVE for all, by please; + using solid-light etiquette + keeping smoking or drinking alcohol out of sight, away from the immediate area + playing MELLOW MUSIC AT LOW VOLUMES ONLY (for consideration of different tolerance levels and kiddos having developing eardrums) 💕 ———> RIDE DETAILS Meetup at 1pm in front of OMSI to check out the FIRST CROW display. We always appreciate @omsi for the shade tree rest stop with no charge to access bathrooms and water-fill stations. We can find a snack bar and vending machines inside, as well. At 1:30 p.m., we’ll roll out to make our way over the car-free Tillikum bridge on our way to view 24 more Wildwood Crows. Restrooms and a water refill station can be found during our visit to the Crow display at Pioneer Square, which will be at about the halfway mark in the route. The last Crow display we see will be at Lan Su Chinese Gardens at NW 2nd & Everett. Feel free to stay in the area to visit local businesses and eateries, or you’re welcome to ride back to OMSI with the ride leaders. ———> RIDE QUESTIONS Use Instagram to message; Tom Howe @nagitpo or Lady Max @flattirecreations ———> ABOUT BIKELOUD PDX BikeLoud PDX promotes bicycle transportation in Portland by empowering riders and creating safer streets for people through advocacy and activism.
