Meet at 6:00pm, ride at 6:30pm
Ride is a loop
Ride length: 3-8 miles
These rides are a space for those that would like to participate in group rides, but have sensory challenges that can make it hard to participate, or those that just prefer this type of environment. Led by neurodivergent folx, rides include lower traffic routes, quieter or no music, and conduct expectations around creating a sensory friendly experience. They will be held periodically throughout the summer. These will be no-drop rides, bathroom access, and always have the option to pause the ride if anyone has needs. Expectations: Consent is required at all times. Ask before touching people or their property. Keep the environment positive, and be cognizant of your behavior if it makes others uncomfortable. We will discuss and vote as a group before each ride whether we have music. If we do have music, it will always be softer music at a lower volume. No music outside of the ride leaders music. Keep talking and volume levels lower and consistent. Be careful with bell ringing and don't use electronic bells. Be cognizant of scents and no smoking at all during the ride, or in noticeable proximity to the group at the start or on stops. Please no drinking during the ride. Be conscious of others around you as you ride and give as much space as possible. No racing or weaving in/out of the group. Keep bike lights solid and on lowest setting, or off. No bright or flashing lights. People can be as social as they choose to be, or not at all. We will have stickers for those that wish to not be approached. ---- Presented by Ride Safe PDX.
