RIDE PUSHED BACK TO TUESDAY AUGUST 19 DUE TO HEAT RIDE DESCRIPTION UPDATED 8/11 *Bring A Water Bottle! it's gonna be hot!* *ride end point updated to Dharma Rain Zen Center - 8500 NE Siskiyou* The annual taco ride is back - but in the interest of shaking things up a bit and scouting some new spots, we're headed northeast this year instead of north (!) We're gonna eat hundreds of tacos from Northeast Portland's best tacquerias and food trucks. birria, shrimp, asada, chorizo, fish, chicken, veggie, relleno, mango habanero, carnitas and more. Wanna bike around and help us eat them? As per tradition, we'll meet at the Gazebo of Peninsula Park, and we'll make our way east to the Dharma Rain Zen Center. This is a slow, no-drop (no one left behind!), all-ages-and-abilities ride on flat neighborhood greenways and chill streets - it's about a 7 mile ride, one-way, and it finishes close to MAX and other bus routes. Please bring cash to hand to me at the beginning of the ride, or even better, venmo/paypal me some $ ahead of time (asking sliding scale $20-50 depending on how hungry you are/how generous you are). Proceeds go towards very generous tipping at each local business and anything left over ends up towards a lump sum donation to PCUN – Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste - a farmworkers union that all of us should be supporting in these wretched times we live in. All-but-finalized plans - due to the heat we might make some last minute changes, we'll update this page by 3pm Tuesday if it changes: El Nutri Taco, 2124 NE Alberta St Loncheria Los Mayas, 4212 NE Prescott St Rose City Burrito, 6205 NE Prescott St ki'ikibáa, 3244 NE 82nd Ave We'll buy some vegetarian tacos, too, but to be clear, some of these places have better veggie tacos than others, so adjust expectations accordingly. venmo: @ambrown You don't *have* to RSVP, but it's strongly encouraged, especially if you want vegetarian tacos. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeemZxFRUgNwK3ojNPEDwNM5555UY-sS26WJy9A6dHe84QNnQ/viewform?usp=dialog
