The Hike & Bike supports the Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship, helping students that come from families impacted by addiction. Oregonian columnist Steve Duin called this "Oregon's most impactful scholarship." The HMC cyclists highly recommend this ride (or hike) - wonderful organization and fun, well-organized ride with fabulous BBQ lunch served at top of Larch Mountain. The event consists of a hike OR bike with a barbecue at the top of Larch Mountain. To participate, choose which way to the top you will take (hike or bike). All participants must raise or donate a minimum of $50 by August 2nd. Bicycling Magazine rated this one of the top 100 bicycle climbs in the U.S. Hike: 7.2 mile hike with 4,010 ft. elevation gain from Multnomah Falls to Sherrard Point. Catch shuttle back to start after lunch.
