Long-term Bike Policy researcher and activist Jason Meggs is in town for a couple days. Let's ride with Jason and talk shop. All are welcome, whether you're a seasoned policy wonk or just someone who likes to ride bikes. We'll talk about the Idaho Stop Law at Ladd Circle, then ride through some pretty places and thorny places. We'll get snacks and beverages at Cherry Sprout Market, watch the sunset at Swan Island Beach, then return to NE Portland. (Transit option to return to Ladd Circle) A bit more about Jason. —Quirky policy nerd, never lets practical considerations from focusing on the larger goals. On the ride we can talk about the Idaho Stop Law. Also how deep decarbonization requires a paradigm shift to car-free cities that would create a much healthier and uplifting environment. And how the shortest path to achieve that while adapting land use and travel patterns is to ambitiously and aggressively adopt light electric vehicles, including bicycles, trikes and trailers to substitute for heavier vehicles.
