Ride is a loop
This is a chill pace road ride, friendly to beginners and experienced lady* riders alike (*trans-ladies this means you too!). Lady-powered bikes only - no dudes, no e-bikes, no offense**. We meet at 10am, roll at 10:10am. As usual, we'll meet at the northern end of the trolley trail at 17th Avenue & SE St Andrews Drive, across from the Goodwill Bins and very close to the Springwater Trail - about a half mile from the Orange Line MAX Johnson Creek/Tacoma stop. Some riders have trouble finding this for the first time, so you might consider studying the map before you head there. August's ride is our biggest of the year - 46 miles, 2900' of gain. We'll always aim to stay together for maximum fun. Our pace is chill and social. Please stay behind the ride leader so I may set the pace. If you're too fast to stay behind the ride leader, this is not the ride for you! Please plan this as an all day affair. We may not return to the start until 5pm or so and won't be rushing so riders can make other plans or appointments etc. Link to route below. We'll stop at a couple parks with bathrooms and water spigots for rest stops. We'll also be stopping at the little market in Beaver Creek for lunch. I'd still suggest you carry some snacks with you. It's also helpful if you can carry a small repair kit and spare tube (even if you are riding tubeless or don't know how to fix a flat). Which reminds me, there will be a flat repair clinic soon, stay tuned. Please email me any questions. This ride is for lady-powered bikes only - no dudes, no e-bikes, no offense. **Due to the speed and battery requirements of e-bikes, they are not a good fit for this ride. All of my other rides welcome e-bikes - full listing here: https://bicyclekitty.blogspot.com/
