LAST MINUTE RIDE ADDITION!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! (this is a PADDLE RIDE, not a bike ride) America? Wack! Colonialism? Wack! Patriotism? Wack! Paddling? Lit! Waterfront music? Lit! Fireworks? Lit! Grab your watercraft and let's go paddle the Willamette River! We'll slowly make our way from the Sellwood Riverfront towards downtown to catch some of the Waterfront Blues Festival music, then meander over to the July 4th Fireworks later in the night. Might take a short detour to explore the cove at Ross Island (it's a wildlife sanctuary - stay on your watercraft; look, don't touch). Paddle will be at a leisurely pace. About 8-10 miles total. What to bring? Personal watercraft - bring your paddleboard, canoe, kayak, etc. Personal floation device - having a life jacket (or other PFD) onboard your watercraft is required by law (and smart on a day such as July 4th)! The water is still cold - be aware! LIGHTS! - We're gonna be paddling into the evening, so bringing (waterproof) lights is a MUST! Water, snacks, sunscreen - it's gonna be a hot one, folks! Hydrate and wear sunscreen! Where/When? 7:00pm - Meetup at Sellwood Waterfront Park **Park outside of the lot - you might not be able to get your car if the lot closes** 7:45ish - Start paddling 10:00pm - Watch fireworks near downtown 10:15ish (after fireworks) - Paddle back toward Sellwood Waterfront Park Joseph is the ride leader. Look for his pink hat and/or red life jacket!
