Oregon Humanities' Civic Love Ride is back, bringing even more goodness to Bike Summer's abundance of inspiration and connection! Join us on a free, all-ages ride that celebrates civic love, which has been described as love for society expressed through a commitment to the common good and a belief that we are all better off when we are ALL better off! We'll pedal together to several meaningful locations where individuals, organizations, and collectives are demonstrating a commitment to civic love. In their brief but bountiful presentations, we'll hear about what they do and how they see civic love alive, striving, and thriving in their work and communities. Presenters include: LaQuida Landford of AfroVillage PDX, Master Artist Michael Bernard Stevenson Jr., Nikki Brown Clown, and more! The ride will end with a cool, collective gathering where we'll share ideas about how we can deepen our own civic love practices, and connect with each other utilizing the National Public Housing Museum's 36 Questions for Civic Love, which were created to help us all rise in civic love. As always, civic love-themed music and prizes will certainly sweeten the deal.
