Meet for 6:00 and ride for 6:30ish
Ride is a loop
This ride is a safe space. Please limit alcohol and drug use for the safety and comfort of others. Please be mindful to not video or take pictures during the shares with out explicit consent from the person and letting the group know that’s been given. We set a clear container at the start of the ride. The route will be slow and easy and All Wheels friendly. The theme is Consent and Body Autonomy. Some of us will talk on things that can be upsetting to hear (we ask for shares to omit specific details to lessen triggering others). Some of us live in shame because of what someone else has done to us, there’s a lessening in the self condemnation and shame when we hear and know others have had experiences that have caused the same reactions. PTSD and CPTSD in the txt books have a common framework of response to trauma detailed. What we so often need to know is that what happened to us wasn’t our fault, that how we react and feel is a pattern of trauma and we all share these reactions and despite our specific experiences we are not alone. We are not alone. The ride itself will have several stops. At these stops, we reaffirm the container and the space we’re in and the boundaries. Then we follow a process of speaking, karaoke/poetry and then to free up the energy and the things our bodies hold onto we dance it out for a few tracks. The share flow: 1/ Take the Mic and tell your story, or write it down and someone else can read it for you. 2/ karaoke/share a poem of yours or someone else’s. 3/ Dance your heart out. Also, let your ride leader know how you feel you want to share and we can try and do that too. You’re welcome to stand in silence before the whole group for a few minutes. Silence is the pattern most of us follow who’ve had our consent ignored. Those of us who understand will understand. This is the 6th mental health ride and each ride poses it’s own challenges and needs for fluidity around what we all need. This is the specific ride that the others were preparing us to lead, I (Moorland) have been trying to avoid posting this ride because I know the personal weight it carries for me and some part of me wishes to continue to be silent and not be open, but that is our experience as well….my struggle is so many of yours struggle too. We’re together in this. Please bring yourself how you are…nobody needs to speak or even witness others….the intent and container is set such that just knowing of this ride imparts it’s intent with more magic.
