    Loop Ride is a loop

Journey To Center Of The Heart: The Portland Volcano Ride From Jack: This will be a ride of mysteries revealed, fears faced and questions answered as We will plumb the depths of the unknown. Personal reflection in a new year. What is it that each of us is still holding onto that we know we should have let go of long ago but haven’t due to fear, mistrust, resentment… You are encouraged to write it down and bring it with you on February 27th. If you don’t, we’ll have paper and pen at the ride. Maybe you can encapsulate it in one word, one sentence or one paragraph. These decisions are rarely a one and done but more realistically a first step toward healing and letting go. What better place to make the descent into our own hearts than in the mouth of an urban volcano ( Yes Mt Tabor is a volcano), and to share this experience with others who will do the same or those who will stand beside you in this shared experience. You may want to take this step with someone you trust: a friend , a family member, a co-rider, a higher power. Accountability and support are crucial to stay the course once you’ve set it in motion. We will be opening our hands to something in our life. Hurts, resentments, unforgiveness, trauma. Not a generic, unfocused gesture to sweep our problems away but something very specific. One thing in life that we haven’t gotten past. Now can be the moment to confront it and acknowledge it. Be prepared to let it go by expressing it in a tangible way as a first step. Write it on a piece of paper, and then burn in in the fire. And if you want to say something about it, that will be your prerogative. There will be no pressure. Only support for your decision. You may want to release it silently or share it with another individual, with the group, or release it to the stars or to your higher power, the God of your understanding. The destination will be reflective, meditative. No one has to share openly. You give yourself permission on this ride as Moorland says, to share or not share. And know that you will be supported, loved, encouraged, embraced. Figuratively or literally if you want to give and receive that embrace. We will all have some time to consider this before February 27th. Keep others in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare for the journey into the Volcano. This ride is a loop with a relaxed pace. We will take an alternate route to Mt Tabor this time on less-travelled side streets. There will be some short stretches of hills but it will be worth it. No one will be left behind. Please be prepared to sync your sound system to the ride leader’s Spotify playlist for a harmonious musical experience and to respect the ride theme’s intention. The playlist will be a mix of classic prog rock, celestial and Scandinavian ethereal explorations. Mellow Mondays rides are an ongoing ride for chilling with friends and welcoming new people to our community. Gift sharing is optional and small gifts such as snacks or stickers are just an easy way for us all to come together and get to know each other. We will have different ride leaders now and then but we all foster our community of joy and acceptance starting from a place of trust and safety. All of our rides are safe spaces and we foster a community of acceptance and mutual regard. Additional information: We strongly recommend any and all PDX:Unity rides and the warm/safe atmosphere they create for our marginalized communities. Also: Sabrina (From Fancy Mondays Picnic rides) is now hosting ‘Say Hi Sundays’ which is a ride encouraging community bonding and new friendships.
