    Time Sun, Aug 7, 2022, 2:00 PM

Time details We'll meet at 2pm, learn our first song at 2:30, and start riding by 3:00. (When the song feels complete.)

End location End location: Ladd Circle Park

This ride is about learning a simple, beautiful song through the "oral tradition," and singing it together. Then - biking to another park or fountain, learning another song, sing it together, and then bike on. At the end of the ride we'll sing and then have a picnic in the grassy shade, get to know each other a little better, and bask in the glow of music & bikes! All songs will be acapella - just the human voice and body is all that's needed. This is NOT about "performing." No one needs to be a "singer" or have ANY experience singing. This is about our birthright to connect by singing together. Humans have been doing this for tens of thousands of years, so trust your DNA. If you're not sure about this singing thing - you can always be part of it by doing rhythm through body percussion. Everyone belongs, everyone contributes. The ride pace will be relaxed, with a fairly flat route. We'll stay together - no one left behind. Our stops will be at parks and fountains, much of them on the West side. Then we'll cross the lovely Tilikum bridge, ride to Ladd Circle for a final song and BYO PICNIC supper in the FULL MOON. End-to-end it's about 5.5 miles. THE SONGS: Songs selected will be written for community singing from such artists as: Melanie De More (international activist), the duo MaMuse, Laurence Cole, and up-and-coming young artist Te Martin. If kids come - we'll sing the Alligator song! WHAT TO BRING: It's nice to have Plenty of water when you're singing. Bring lights to be seen on your ride home. Pack a meal if you'd like to join us for the picnic on the grass after the ride.
