Ride is a loop
We’re excited to continue the 7th annual Black Liberation Ride in 2022 - a community bike ride for Black + Brown Portlanders, hosted on Sunday, Juneteenth - aka the celebration of the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African - aka Black Independence Day! This ride is a moment to come together, take up space, and celebrate in solidarity by riding around Portland. This ride is centered around the Black / Brown community. This ride is kid-friendly, NO DROP, and open to all rider levels. BIKETOWN BIKES: If you do not have a bike, BIKETOWN (https://www.facebook.com/BIKETOWNpdx/) is offering a free ride promotion with code BLR22. This code should cover 3 hours worth of riding with an e-bike on the day of the event. The BIKETOWN stations at NE Fremont & 15th (Whole Foods), MLK & Knott (Nike Store) and NE Williams & Fremont (New Seasons) will be stocked at the start of the event. Rider checklist: - Face mask (recommended, but not required) - Sunblock - Water bottle - Helmet (if you don’t have one, don’t worry) - Something comfortable to ride in - Any flags, shirts, whatever you want to rep the culture Meet at 2:30pm, Ride at 3:00pm
