Are you new to Portland? New to Biking in Portland? New to Pedalpalooza Bike Summer? This is the ride for you! We will lead you in a casual and no-drop tour of PDX along greenways in the different quadrants of our beautiful city and guide you through the in's and out's of Pedalpalooza. You'll have the chance to meet and talk with fellow riders, learn about Pedalpalooza's past, get tips for riding in Portland in the summer. Be prepared for some interactive portions at a park. Stay till the end for free Pedalpalooza stickers, a copy of the official print calendar, and even a free beverage. Additionally BikePortland will be on our ride profiling ride leaders and capturing photos of riders as they cross the iconic Portland, Oregon sign (with the leaping stag) - these will be available to attendees after the ride! A little bit more about your ride leaders: > Meghan: Meghan is an experienced Pedalpalooza rider and ride leader! She has organized Pedalpalooza in Portland for many years and knows in the ins and outs of bike greenways and bike friendly streets around the city. > William: William is newer to Portland, having moved here at the beginning of 2021. Although he is not new to biking, he has been thoroughly enjoying the bike accessibility infrastructure the city has to offer and is always keen to ride and make new bike friends. Here is the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39678329 Want to attend, but don't have a bike? Our friends a Kerr Bikes (located at the Salmon Street Fountain) have offered to rent out up to 5 bikes for the evening for just $11. They close promptly after we depart on our ride, so the bikes rented must be returned the following day (Friday). Please note that to rent a bike you'll need to bring an ID, credit/debit card and sign a waiver. Don't forget to bring a lock, lights and a little spending money as we will be concluding the ride at Schilling Cider House in SE Portland. We also encourage helmets. Please note that Schilling only allows for 21+, but kids are welcome to join for the ride portion. For folks who may feel more comfortable masking up indoors, please do so! Meet other new Portlanders (and old-timers as this ride is welcome to all)! Hope to see you there!
