Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. If you’ve been asked not to attend *any* Shift rides, you are not welcome at TNR—that’s not up for debate on our ride. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. TNR works best when everyone helps set the tone and shares responsibility. Look out for each other, welcome new riders and help them find the next stop, leave it better than you found it, give people space when they need it, and help keep the ride moving forward together by practicing Consent, Accountability, Respect, and De-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements after 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Ride Tracker: https://thursdaynightride.com/tracker 🗺️ TNR #590 route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56275103 https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log

End location: 7701 N Chautauqua Blvd, Portland, OR 97217
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Thursday nights. Hard start at 8:05 PM. It's almost the weekend, so let's ride bikes. We roll from and return to Columbia Park (meet in front of the pool) for an hour-ish ramble through North Portland and beyond. No agenda beyond riding bikes with good people on a summer evening. Expect roughly 10 miles at a conversation-friendly pace (~10 mph). We usually stop briefly along the way for snacks, stretching, admiring a weird tree, taking in a panoramic view, or whatever else seems important at the time. This is a no-drop ride. Basket bikes, ATBs, all-road bikes, cruisers, "gravel" bikes, fancy bikes, old bikes, rusty bikes, whatever. If it can comfortably cruise at ~10 mph for an hour, it's welcome. Bring: -Front and rear lights (required) -Snacks if you'd like -water or optional beverage, maximum vibes (no store stop). Meet: 7:45 PM . Roll: 8:05 PM sharp . Start & Finish: Columbia Park, in front of the pool. Come meet your neighbors and see what North Portland looks like after dark. Happy Hour before the ride last Thur of each month: 7/30 (6pm at Chill & Fill), 8/27 (TBD), 9/24 (TBD), 10/29 (TBD). Check back for happy hour location(s).

Don your finest wings & carapaces and join our mighty swarm as we cycle to catch Cascadia's finest puppet troupe! We'll leisurely make our way along the Esplanade to River Street Studios for an outdoor performance, details below: A Night at the Grand Opera Performance | River Street Studios — Friday, August 21 A live puppet performance by internationally acclaimed traveling puppet theater, String and Shadow from Olympia, Washington. Show begins at 7:30pm. Come enjoy an evening of outdoor theater and giant, spectacle puppetry in Portland, Oregon at River Street Studios, on the banks of the Willamette River at sunset. Brought to you by String and Shadow Puppet Theater, “Night at the Grand Opera” is a frenzied romp through a candlelit night at the Opera. Rococo extravagance is fashioned with elaborate cardboard sets that collapse and unfold to reveal the many great dramas of the opera house (not all of which happen on stage.) Love triangles, converging revolutionary plots, art-loving flies and stilt-walking vermin are brought to life with cardboard and paper-mache. Fun for the whole family. Bring your own chair or blanket! $20 - $35 suggested entry fee, no one turned away due to lack of funds.

Meet 6:30, Roll at 7. Firmly at 7. Would I lie to you?
Sweet dreams are made of ... this ride. Hopefully neither walking nor riding on broken glass. Here comes the rain again, but bike summer ain't over yet. So let's ride to feel like we're seventeen again. Who's that girl leading the ride? Actually, it's Lois with the Cat Ears *and* Em. But please don't zoom up right by our side -- stay behind the ride leaders at all times, except when corking. There will not be a store stop. There will be a dance break. Which is much more fun. Casual pace. All wheels, all bodies, all bikes welcome. But if you're banned elsewhere, then you hurt me and I hate you.

Come learn about ADUs, tiny houses on wheels, and the small housing possibilities hiding in plain sight all over Portland. We’ll start at a custom ADU I built for a short, casual class on ADUs, middle housing, and what’s possible on a typical Portland lot. From there, we’ll hop on bikes and ride across town to check out a few real-life examples of ADUs and tiny houses on wheels. We’ll end at my current project: a 5,000-square-foot lot that will soon have two ADUs and a tiny house on wheels. I’ll walk you through the plan, what I’ve learned, what I’d do differently, and why I’m so excited about small-scale housing as a way to create more flexible, affordable, community-minded living options in Portland. This ride is also part of the launch of Small House Club PDX, a new community for people interested in ADUs, tiny homes, middle housing, creative land use, and making Portland a little more livable one small home at a time. Bring your questions, curiosity, love of bikes, and enthusiasm for small housing

Sequins are forever and soon we'll know the life of a showgirl, babe. The 2nd annual Taylor Swift Bike Ride is upon us with a new player in the game, The Life of a Showgirl! To make it even more interesting, the playlist this year will mainly feature songs by the legendary co-writers and producers, Max Martin and Shellback...aka bangers from 1989, reputation, The Life of a Showgirl and a little bit of Red. Because it'll be August, we'll also be playing some folklore AND Cruel Summer (because no ride is complete without it). Wear all of the glitter and sparkles or best Eras Tour outfit and make the friendship bracelets to bring and trade with fellow Swifties. This ride will be party-paced (...slow) and no-drop. We'll meet at Colonel Summers (at the picnic tables on Taylor St side) at 6:30pm and ride around 7pm. Potential dance stop and route tbd :).

We'll also explain Portland's unique community emergency response program (Portland NET); and how getting to know your neighbors might be the most important thing you can do to build your own resilience. And we will stop for ice cream :) Link to the ride route will be shared below. The mission of the Beaverton Arts Commission is to enhance, unite, and celebrate our diverse community through art. Much of this art is out in our community in Central Beaverton, so let’s hop on our bikes or scooters and take a tour of over 15 murals and sculptures! This ride will be under 3 miles long and is suitable for most ages, though we will be crossing a few busy streets, so being able to ride unassisted is mandatory. There will be a lot of stopping as we share information about selected public art and the artists who made it. We will start in the plaza outside City Hall and wend our way around Central Beaverton before finishing the tour at Beaverton City Park. If you’re feeling thirsty, you can join us for post-ride refreshments and discussion at the local business Fly Chai. If you need assistance getting back to City Hall, we will ensure you can return safely. Not that kind of porn. The /r/bikeporn kind — beautiful bikes, weird bikes, rare bikes, lovingly built bikes, bikes with stories. The ones that make you slow down at a coffee shop rack and go "oh damn, what is that." This is a casual ~15-mile ride for people who own gorgeous and unusual machines, and for people who just love to look at them. Bring out your vintage Colnago. Your hand-built randonneur. Your team-issue road bike with the matching kit. Your tricked-out enduro rig. Your custom-painted fixie. Your friend's grandfather's '70s touring bike that's been in the garage for 40 years. If it's sitting on your local bike shop floor right now, it's probably not bike porn. If you had to wait six months for the frame, talk to three different builders, or stalk eBay for two years to find it — that's bike porn. You don't need to bring a fancy bike to come. Admirers welcome. Show up on whatever you've got and gawk at the rest. There will be a Concours d'Elegance. Midway through the ride, we'll park up, walk the line, and crown the most beautiful bike in attendance. Bring your A-game. Polish your chain. Wax that top tube. Prizes TBD but the glory is forever. We'll roll at a social pace so people can ride alongside each other, talk shop, and actually look at each other's bikes. Bring lights and snacks.

We will ride from Irving Park in NE on this free, family-friendly, kid-paced bike ride. We’ll start at the Irving Park at 2pm, and ride 1.5 miles to a place on Mississippi Avenue where you can get Ice Cream. This is the last Sunday before school starts for PPS, so this is a great time to ride was a family before we switch to Bike Bus season! Meet at 2:00pm, ride at 2:15pm. The ride is a flat 3 mile loop, so it is suitable for most young bike riders who can pedal their own bike without training wheels. We will stop for a while to get ice cream. This ride is free, but bring money to get ice cream. We will ride at a slow pace for little pedalers and parents on cargo bikes. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to balance and pedal in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal. Adult corkers are welcome to join as a traffic safety superheroes. We’ll ride together as a group, rain or shine, because kids are traffic too! Map: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46718270

Bring your whole self, whether that's silly and social, quiet and reflective, or somewhere in between. We practice consent, follow the Shift2Bikes Code of Conduct, ride at a social pace, and do our best to ensure no one gets left behind. Expect loop routes, good company, a mid-ride activity, and a stop with food, drinks, and clean restrooms. Presented by Ride Safe PDX. We're working to make the Portland bike community safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive.

As children watch patiently out the window for the chance to ride a bike to school or the park, and the state transportation funding plan struggles to join the 21st century, PBOT continues building streets for cars, sometimes with a block or two of bike lane for a treat. Bikeway designs from 20 years ago are being cast in concrete as the anticlimax of 30 years of advocacy, to the tune of $26M/mile... and about one mile per decade. We'll look at the terrain between Multnomah, Burlingame, Hillsdale, and a few other neighborhoods, why Barbur Blvd is such a state-highway-dept-neglected disaster, some recently-completed obsolete bike infrastructure, and the secret trails and side streets we use to sneak through the gaps between the car sewers. This casual group ride will be an easy pace with several stops to discuss and observe the transportation infrastructure and missing links of southwest bikeways along the SW corridor.

Ride is a loop
Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Be careful of slippery roads/leafs on ground/pot holes. Call out road hazards to help bike friends stay safe. 2nd Fridays are MMR - later night vibes to make it to Midnight Mystery Ride. Ride length: 0-3 miles
This ride will be a relatively short, casual paced ride for families looking to get out and spend some time with their kids using pedal power! The goal is to get more families into riding bicycles instead of driving everywhere, and showing families safe neighbourhood spots and paths in Washington County! The party will kick off at Mooberry Elementary School in Hillsboro at 10am, and the closest MAX stop is at Washington/SE 12th a mile and a half south. We will depart at 11am and ride en masse to Next Level Pinball! The closest MAX at the end is going to be at Fairplex, about 1 mile south. The ride will be about 1 mile in a relatively flat neighbourhood, on quiet neighbourhood streets. All people and all wheels are welcome! Please be respectful of any children who come along, as the last thing we want to do is discourage them from cycling.

Meet at 5:00pm for appetizers, ride at 6pm for main course
Come celebrate the change of seasons with the flavors of Italia at the Pasta Ride! Meet at Laurelhurst Park at 5pm (Picnic Table F) for the first course: a casual antipasti and social hour. Riders are welcome to bring something light to share for this round - think olives, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, bruschetta, fruit or anything you'd serve before a big Italian dinner. At 6pm sharp, we'll roll out for a leisurely no-drop ride just in time for sunset and the main course: a family style potluck pasta dinner! Bring your favorite Italian dish to share; spaghetti with marinara, pasta primavera, pesto pappardelle, ravioli al funghi, lentil bolognese, stuffed manicotti to get your mind and appetite going. The ride leaders are vegan so count on a few plant-based options being available but omnivore dishes also welcome! Late summer harvests of tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, green beans and basil go great in pasta. Early fall arrivals of mushrooms, pumpkin, butternut squash and Tuscan kale also go great in pasta. Pretty much anything goes with pasta. Bring your own plate/bowl/cup/utensils and a dish to share. Good food, good company, good vibes guaranteed. This is a no drop ride that follows the Shift Code of Contact. Buon appetito! ((route info coming soon))

Ride is a loop
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Calling all cyclists, robotboys, fembots, and dancehall queens! Call your girlfriend and tell her it’s time that we dance to the beat. This ride is all Robyn. Who’s that girl? She's an internationally beloved Swedish pop-star - killin' it since '94. She's the founder and CEO of Konichiwa Records. Listed in section 202 of the United Nations Security Act of 1979 as being too hot to wear tight sweaters in international airspace. She's recently had a comeback album that had fans gasping - is it really real? I know it's just dopamine but the timing of this ride just feels so real to me. I'll talk you through it... Route Map Linked Below: Expect a ~2 hr joy ride of 11miles, with 2 stops to dance, hydrate, and cool down (bring your own bevvies - there is no store stop). * Ride is a loop. (Nearly the same as last year - I'm a sucker for this route.) * We will be taking a a couple major streets briefly, and a bridge! Do you know what it takes to make this a great ride? - We will need corkers (and those who are cork curious.) - Loud speakers (for music.) - And of course you! (It's not as good by myself.) Got a decent speaker? BRING IT! In past years we've tried to sync the speakers... Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a "Jam." I'll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to Robyn only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn't.) Sometimes we need an audience to feel like we're making sense. Dress your Robyn fantasy - work up a vibe. Be sure to bring water (you’re not indestructible) and snacks/beverages - there will NOT be a store stop. We'll be riding into the sun(set) - remember to charge your bike lights so you can light up, light up the way to your heart. BANNED RIDERS: If you are banned from any rides, you are also banned from this ride. This ride will be a safer space for queer and bipoc folks with a zero tolerance policy for non-consent, discrimination, or phobic behavior. Never record others or take pictures without a person's verbal consent (no is a complete answer.) Smart glasses (Meta/Google/Whatever) are not allowed on this ride.
