Spread your wings and prepare to bike - you will become a butterfly! It's not just a sweet sweet fantasy baby, we're celebrating Mariah on this leisure-paced ride (we'll try not to get OOC). Route Map link below: Expect an ~1.5 hr joy ride of ~9 miles, with a dance break stop at the 3 mile mark in the middle to shake it off at the Salmon Street Springs Fountain and enjoy refreshments (bring your own - there is no store stop.) * We will be taking some major streets - this ride is NOT a loop. PLEASE BRING WATER / BEVERAGES! It may be a warm one, so come prepared with hydration. Bring a bandana to soak with water for your neck. No store stops - just a bathroom break; so be sure to bring all the water, sunscreen, and snacks you’ll want. ** This is not a sober ride, but we ask folks to imbibe responsibly for the safety of everyone. ** This ride will have an open arms policy: no rider left behind, and we aim to provide a safer space for all folks. Got a big speaker? Bring it! How else can we get you feeling emotions? (higher than the heavens above.) We'll be sporting a large speaker, but we encourage everyone to bring their own music box so we can bounce to Mariah's incredible voice. (Link to a playlist below.) Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a "Jam." I'll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to Mariah Carey only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn't.) Join us - we belong together! BANNED RIDERS: If you are banned from any rides, you are also banned from this ride. This ride will be a safer space for queer and bipoc folks with a zero tolerance policy for non-consent, discrimination, or phobic behavior. Never record others or take pictures without a person's verbal consent (no is a complete answer.) Google glasses are not allowed on this ride.

The Sensory Ride is a weekly ride, led by neurodivergent people from Ride Safe PDX, that hopes to provide a more comfortable environment for those that experience anxiety or sensory challenges, or those that just prefer a calmer, quieter riding environment. Rides include a slow pace (6-8mph), lower traffic routes on neighborhood greenways, quieter or no music, and conduct expectations around creating a more relaxed and sensory friendly experience. Please see our list of ride conduct expectations at: https://pdxsensoryride.org/ride-expectations/ These will be no-drop rides, always a loop, bathroom access at the start and store stops, and always have the option to pause the ride if anyone has needs. Sarah (and its various other spellings) was one of the most popular names in the 1980s and 1990s. This ride is inspired by all the Saras I've met over the years: the Sara at work who had my same first, middle, and last names, the Sara I met in college who became a friend for life, the 4 Sarahs who took a polaroid together at a random dance party, and many other impromptu, sara-endipitous meetings. This ride is a Sarah parade! If you are a Sarah, this ride is for you, but you can also bring a Sara, impersonate a Sarah, or come as a Sara ally. Ride will be a loop, route and flyer to come!

Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Jul 23, 2026, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements around 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. If you’ve been asked not to attend *any* Shift rides, you are not welcome at TNR—that’s not up for debate on our ride. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. TNR works best when everyone helps set the tone and shares responsibility. Look out for each other, welcome new riders and help them find the next stop, leave it better than you found it, give people space when they need it, and help keep the ride moving forward together by practicing Consent, Accountability, Respect, and De-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements after 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Ride Tracker: https://thursdaynightride.com/tracker https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

It's bikes; it's sex; it's bike sex. The concept is simple: everyone moves differently; everyone fucks differently. Our program of erotic-themed art from various artists showcases how our mobility and kinks play with each other. The result is profound. We are all different; we are all fucking rad. UPDATE: Advance tickets are now available: https://cstpdx.com/event/bike-smut/ It is human-powered, sex-positive and for the people. We, the self selecting adults desiring of greater liberation for all, gather to explore taboos rather than permit an unseen "other" determine such personal and community values for us. In addition to the films we have two exciting performances: 1) the east coast musical group, The Bicycle Noise Creation Machine whom will be playing their bicycles live on stage. Catch them in other Northwest locations as they tour down the West Coast on their musical instruments. 2) a cast of dozen bike fuckers present live, political, queer, musical theater titled, "Pants!: A Story of Two Victorian Women, their Bicycles, and the World's Most Scandalous Bifurcated Garment!" $15 - No One Turned Aware For Lack Of Funds This event is a fundraiser for the Prairieland Defendants. People in Texas protesting ICE have been sentenced for 30-100 years in prison for exercising their legal rights and defending their loved ones. The US regime wants to create fear, not solidarity. We keep us safe and part of that is building power from our bottoms up to our doms. https://prairielanddefendants.com/ In 2007 the bikesexual population of Portland descended into a lovely abyss of their own creation at the first screening of Bike Smut, "The Pornography of the Bicycle." The Clinton Street Theater called it: "the most popular night in the history of the venue" with the line stretching around 3 blocks. More were invited to submit their ideas on the interaction between human-powered transport and sex-positive culture. A new program was made each year, including: "Turning Trixxx," and "The Porny Express" In 2016 the world premiere of "Science Friction" was the most recent time Portland would have an opportunity to experience communal defilement by "putting the fun between their legs" In 2026 a collection of films from the 19 years of traveling and exploring will help Portland learn how to get on and off bikes. We have shared these programs more than 500 times across 30 countries in 5 continents. Bike Smut doesn't make DVDs, stream or otherwise share these movies. The only way to see Bike Smut is live. It is unknown when, or if, it will ever play again in Portland.

And there will be secure bike parking, but bring your lock. We will give away concert poster spoke cards, stickers, and other swag. Bring lights since it will be dark for the return ride. We will ride 2.5 miles along Halsey which has a bike lane and a 35 mph speed limit. We will also do The CAKE Ride again this summer: https://www.shift2bikes.org/calendar/event-23806

It’s Pie and Beer Day! Are you ex-Mormon? Mormon? Mormon adjacent? A Utah connection? Or you just like bikes, pie, and or beer? Come roll on a social-pace bike ride. In Utah, today is a state holiday, Pioneer Day, to commemorate the Utah immigrants first arriving in the Salt Lake Valley. For those not fans of religion or European cultural invasions, it’s also known “Pie and Beer Day” — a nice holiday in the summer when you meet up with your friends for pie and beer. As Utahns, people who have lived in Utah, Mormons or ex-Mormons, we’ll have lots of things to talk about. What did you think of 3.2 beer? Where do we buy our underwear? Do you know how to have a speakeasy in the trunk of your car with your pals when left out in the cold at a family members wedding? Did you go on a Mormon mission? Did you ride a bike there? And, after all, who really need separation of church and state? We’ll start outside the ex-Mormon church at 30th and Harrison, roll through some pretty streets and parks, have a layover at a Willamette River beach for communion. If any riders want to become Mormons so they can become genuine ex-Mormons we can baptize you in the river! Then head to Lauretta-Jean’s Pie Shop at 34th and Division. Come join for the theme, or just to ride with cool people.

Meet at 6:15, play at 6:45, ride, play again
10:00 PM
End location: Laurelhurst Park Pickleball Courts
Ride length: 0-3 miles
2nd Annual Pickleball Ride Bring your best self and your most creative trash talk, big swings, even bigger misses, laughter, and high-fives. We can fit a max of 16 people onto 4 courts. Please sign up here and let me know if you can bring some of the listed items: https://tinyurl.com/PPDXpickleball Last year we started at Mount Tabor tennis courts to play in daylight, then rode to Laurelhurst and had a ton of fun playing in the dark with lots of portable lighting. We’ll do the same this year, except we’re adding a twist to the daylight session: Crazy Rules! I have a list of rules, and we’ll introduce a rule or two once every 10 minutes; this way everyone gets to play a bit before learning new each rule. Examples: - The “no volley zone” (NVZ), also known as the “kitchen,” is still NVZ if you use your normal paddle, buuut … if you use a kitchen utensil or frying pan, you CAN volley in the kitchen. Using a cookie sheet is highly encouraged, and is worth 2 points if you hit a winning drop shot while yelling, “Baker’s Dozen!” Do you know how loud it gets when a cookie sheet hits a pickleball? I don’t, and can’t wait to find out. - Bicycles form the net. If you “call it”, then hit a basket, handlebars, or bike seat with the ball, your team wins the point outright; if you hit a ball into a basket and it stays in, that makes it a basket ball, hence 2 points. - “Body parts rule”; one can only guess, unless one joins this ride… - And other rules for max silliness and hopefully lots of laughs. I’ll bring line markers, a few paddles, and pickleballs like last year, but pls bring your own paddle if you have one. Even better: please bring KITCHEN utensils, cookie sheets, pots, and pans that can withstand pickleball hits. Please show up early to help set up our courts (I can’t set up everything quickly enough by myself). Thanks to everyone who helped last year! At Tabor we’ll start packing up a bit before sundown, then ride to Laurelhurst and set up glow-in-the-dark courts. We should have two portable nets for the two “lines only” courts, plus two courts with permanent nets. Nighttime play will follow normal pickleball rules. For visibility, I’ll have lots of lights like last year: LED paddles, LED pickleballs, glow bracelets, EL wire to mark the net, UV reactive tape and UV lamps to make court lines glow, and other lights including a few disco lights. And probably some music, yeah music.

Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. are you feeling stifled by the amount of holds you can place at multnomah county library? did you know that multnomah county residents are eligible for library cards in the surrounding counties? clackamas county libraries are our neighbors to the south and the ledding library in milwaukie is a true delight! it is a beautifully designed, bright, open and airy library with loads of cool things to borrow! in addition to a wide selection of books (and - i hesitate to reveal my book club hack - often arriving much quicker than at the multco library!), they lend a variety of tools, video games, puzzles, and many more fun items! they also have a sweet seed library for perusal. and on a personal note - i love that the clackamas county library has a phone app that you can use to place holds! (RIP the multcolib app???) >>>>> bring your ID and proof of residency (a piece of official mail - a bill or something of that ilk) and you can walk out the door with a new library card that lets you borrow up to 80 items, place up to 40 holds, access e-books, digital audiobooks, magazines and newspapers, and use the Cultural Pass program. <<<<< this ride will be a casual, no drop pace without a store stop (no food in the library!!) - full loop is ~11 miles

This ride will be a relatively short, casual paced ride for families looking to get out and spend some time with their kids using pedal power! The goal is to get more families into riding bicycles instead of driving everywhere, and showing families safe neighbourhood spots and paths in Washington County! The party will kick off at Westview High School in Rock Creek at 10am, and the closest MAX stop is at Willow Creek TC, about 2.5 miles south. We will depart at 11am and ride en masse to the shopping centre at NW 185th and West Union, which has both McBee's serving crepes and ice cream, and T4 serving boba. The closest MAX at the end is going to be also at Willow Creek TC, about 3 miles south. The ride will be about 1 mile in a relatively flat neighbourhood, on quiet neighbourhood streets. All people and all wheels are welcome! Please be respectful of any children who come along, as the last thing we want to do is discourage them from cycling.

25 laps // 25 miles to nowhere FIXED GEAR AND SINGLESPEEDS ENCOURAGED :) Some ppl know about my Day of the Month bike challenge. Now i'm inviting you all to join me as i ride 25 times on a 1-mile loop that I came up with. There's a bit of ups, some downs, and a bit of gravel and dirt. It's not too challenging, but i expect to ride quick in some parts, and slower in others. So pacing is gonna be relatively quick. It's NOT no drop. But it's also just a 1-mile loop, so if you can't keep up the whole time, you can always catch up by going back to the park and meeting up with folks from there. You are welcome to join and bail at any time. I'm doing 25 laps regardless. Given that it's WNBD, I don't care if you wanna do these laps naked. I'm not going to do that, but I'm not the clothing police either lol Route is in RWGPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55756001

"America only has three cities: New York, Portland by bike, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland." Tennessee Williams if he had experienced a Pedalpalooza ride. Let's listen to brass bands, traditional jazz, funk, Mardi Gras Indian, and Bounce music while riding bikes through NE Portland, make a pitstop for snowballs & New Orleans cocktails. We'll proceed onto Honk!, a brass band street festival just off NE Alberta. This event is kid-friendly. Itinerary: Gather at Irving City Park at 12:00 for a 12:30 departure We'll head up to Hana's Snowballs on NE Ainsworth, just east of the intersection with MLK. During this pitstop, I'll pour interested adults their choice of a French 75 or Vieux Carre cocktail. Please bring your own glass to reduce waste. Once the group has properly had their fill of snowballs and drinks, we'll head to Honk! so we can "get out there and support some live, local music." Honk! features 11 PNW brass bands. It's a good time, there's a watermelon eating/smashing contest of sorts. If planning on attending, an RSVP to ReedButerbaugh@gmail.com, subject line New Orleans music ride, would be appreciated. Getting my dude Alan at Hana's Snowball an approximate snowball order will help wait times and the vibe/flow of the ride immensely.

Ride length: 3-8 miles
Beat the heat by riding to fountains and splash pads with other kids and families as part of Kidical Mass PDX! We will ride from Jamison Square in NW on this free, family-friendly, kid-paced bike ride. We’ll start at the Jamison Square fountain at 1pm, and ride around central Portland to 3 other fountains where kids and grown-ups can splash around. August 3rd it often the warmest day of the year, so this will be a great time to beat the heat by celebrating our downtown interactive fountains. Meet at 1:15pm, ride at 1:30pm. The ride is a loop. It's just one mile to the second fountain at Director Park and the next two are each a half mile apart on the waterfront, and then it is 1.5 miles back to the start for a total loop of 3.5 miles, so it is suitable for most young bike riders who can pedal their own bike without training wheels. Bring swimwear, sunscreen and water! We should be back around 4 pm. We will ride at a slow pace for little pedalers and parents on cargo bikes. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to balance and pedal in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal. Adult corkers are welcome to join as a traffic safety superheroes. We’ll ride together as a group, no matter the weather, because kids are traffic too! The direct route is very bike unfriendly, so we will be taking a flatter and safer route along the Springwater and Gresham-Fairview Trails. We will ride 2.5 miles along Halsey which has a bike lane and a 35 mph speed limit. We will also do The CAKE Ride again this summer: https://www.shift2bikes.org/calendar/event-23806

West end of NW Thurman St + 1/4 mile of trail

Sat, Jul 25, 2026, 2:30 PM
Roll at 3pm
6:00 PM
End location: Burlington Beach in St. Johns
The Leif Erikson Trail is one of Portland's secret summer gems. 12 miles of bicycling on a shaded, north-facing forest road. It's a great place to be naked if you want cool shady conditions, and few onlookers. It's a steep climb up to Thurmon St to get to the trailhead, but from the start location for 12 miles to Germantown Road it's only moderately hilly, as the road mostly follows the contour lines. There is a proposal to cut down a large swath of forest for a new powerline corridor. We'll bring body paint for protest slogans on our bodies, and we'll be stopping to enjoy the beautiful section of forest that is slated for clearcutting. Packed gravel with rocks. It can be done on road bikes, but more comfortable with wider tires. If the forecast is for steady rain or other unpleasant weather for nakedness, we may cancel the ride. Cancellations will be posted by 11:59 pm the night before the night before the ride. We are also doing a 8:00 am ride, a 2:30 pm ride, a 6:00 pm ride and 8:30 pm naked rides, check the shift2bikes calendar for details! Our other upcoming rides are: July 25, All Day Naked Ride (including Morning, Sunny, Pearl, Fig Leif and St Johns) Aug 8, Sunny Naked Ride Aug 23, Waxing Gibbous Naked Ride See shift2bikes calendar for details.

PDXWNBR is one of many joyful, community-driven events during Bike Summer. Expect a vibrant, welcoming environment filled with all kinds of people moving together under human power. Looking for a different naked bike ride? The annual summer PDXWNBR has traditionally been “the big one,” but Portland riders have also come together for other naked bike rides that highlight and support a wide range of causes. This is a ride to support awareness for organ donation, specially pediatric organ donation and Children’s Organ Transplant Association! It's a casual and fun ride that is kid and family centered. Will start at Alberta Park playground at 11:00am and rally at the playground, will do a lap or two around the park, and then we will head to Wilshire Park at 11:30am on bikes, do a couple laps, then head to Grant Park at 12:15 to parade and play there where we end the ride. To help celebrate and call attention to the ride, you can decorate your bikes with calendulas or other flowers or hearts or other organs to celebrate Calendula's journey and promote organ donation awareness. We will have signage for COTA in honor of Calendula and organ donor forms and giveaways from Donate Life Northwest. This ride is organized by the mom and 10-year-old sibling of Calendula, who is a 2-year-old who just received a heart transplant! This was after living at Seattle Children’s hospital for over a year. We're celebrating with community and enjoying life outside the hospital… We are so lucky that someone shared the gift of life with us through pediatric organ donation and we're no longer living in the hospital. As an anarchist mom having lived in Portland for 22 years, storytimes, seed giveaways, and bike rides with Bike Summer! feel true to our roots as we endeavor to promote COTA in honor of Calendula and pediatric organ donation. We learned on our journey that transplant wait times are actually longer here in the Pacific Northwest! Our family is on the other side of having waited for an organ, but the experience has left us with a passion for potentially helping other children and families to not have to endure such long hospital stays and more intense medical interventions, separations, and isolation. This event is outside, but we ask those who are able to mask to do so, we will provide n95 masks and we will provide hand sanitizer. This helps keep events accessible to people like Calendula, who are immune compromised. Please message blue crow, Calendula's mama, with any questions or feedback or ideas about the event! This is a free event but we are asking for a suggested donation to go to COTA in honor of Calendula or $5-$20. http://www.COTA.org/COTAforCalendula

80s New Wave hits from Europe: Duran Duran, The Human League, Heaven 17, ABC, Depeche Mode, Roxy Music, Talk Talk, Alphaville, Bronski Beat, New Order, Eurythmics, Erasure, and more... Ride to park dance spot. Meet at 7, ride at 7.30, bike for a bit, then we park disco to 10.30pm. 80s New Wave hits from Europe, then at our first and final stop we'll get the good stuff going as you reapply your eyeliner and dance around your handbags. This is more dance than ride. No store stop, bring your own supplies. Dress as Simon Le Bon, or Kim Wilde, or Jimmy Somerville. This ride takes us back to times before internet takeover and social media puffed up egos, drained souls and wiped out humor. Simpler, better times. Those that were there were lucky to be there, and those who weren't, can be there now on this ride. This is not a ride for those who take themselves seriously. If you haven't done a Park Disco before, you haven't lived.

We're celebrating a favorite cult classic - the Josie & the Pussycats movie! I wish I had just 3 Small Words about this movie - but it's just too good to keep it short. This movie exists in a strange place. It did terribly at the box office, but the soundtrack was largely successful, and that's what we're here to celebrate. Famously voiced by Letters to Cleo front-woman Kay Hanley as Josie (played by Rachel Leigh Cook in the movie), the soundtrack hits the pop-punk genre perfectly and is filled with plenty of ear worms. It's a relatively short album, so this short sunset route seemed a perfect fit. Dress up in animal print, y2k fashion, or anything that makes you feel comfortable. Route Map Linked Below: Expect an ~30 min joy ride of 3 miles. * Ride is a not a loop. * Scenic Dog Bowl sunset route! Do you know what it takes to make this a great ride? - We will need corkers (and those who are cork curious.) - Loud speakers (for music.) - And of course you! (It's not as good by myself.) Got a decent speaker? BRING IT! Curated Josie & the Pussycats playlist available on Tidal at the link below. Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a "Jam." I'll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to Josie & the Pussycats only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn't.) Be sure to bring water and snacks/beverages - there will NOT be a store stop. We'll be riding into the sun(set) - remember to charge your bike lights for the ride home. BANNED RIDERS: If you are banned from any rides, you are also banned from this ride. This ride will be a safer space for 2SLGBTQIA+ and bipoc folks with a zero tolerance policy for non-consent, discrimination, or phobic behavior. Never record others or take pictures without a person's verbal consent (no is a complete answer.) Google glasses are not allowed on this ride.

Come ride around town while we listen to the banger of an album I'm Wide Awake It's Morning front to back. 46 minutes of Conor Oberst telling us about love, death, trains, and several things we were too young to understand in 2005. We'll have a park stop after to relax our vocal cords, wipe away the tears, and give everyone a chance to remember how to be normal in public. Second leg is gonna be more random Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst side project bops. Slightly faster than party pace, just under 15 miles. No store stop until near the end, so bring snacks and drinks. We have enough emotional baggage without adding a blood sugar crash

Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Quick how to lead a ride tutorial before Mellow Mondays ride. Things we’ll cover, Theme creation, Creating the atmosphere you want, Sourcing support, Route planning, Speed, What if’s…… Then QnA. This is meant as a conversation opener and an opportunity to move towards leading your own rides. This will be lead by Moorland with occasional support. Brief Bio: NakedHearts has lead around 450 ish rides, with 150 ish different ride leaders, we’ve worked with local schools, government agencies, festivals, DJ’s, Bands, venues, parades, artist groups of all kinds and supported at least 150 ish other rides. So we have a little experience. But the all the experience just teaches caring about the ride and riders is what matters, and everything flows from there. For most people that comes naturally. Kiro (who’s only 10 years old) is considered the best ride leader and he cares about the ride and riders and having fun and that’s what makes him the best because that’s his focus. The mechanics of leading and organizing can seem daunting but it’s within reach of all of us.

You've heard the adage "if these streets could talk." Thanks to a mysterious (and mysteriously expensive) history book from Powells, they can finally be heard in three sentence summaries. And they have got a lot to say, I'll tell you what. In this reverse alley cat, we'll take and follow suggestions from the crowd, going to each street and reading from the mysterious tome.

WeBike events are for women, trans, and non-binary folks. This includes but is not limited to trans men, trans women, cis women, agender, gender queer, gender fluid, gender nonconforming, and Two Spirit people. Read more about WeBike: thestreettrust.org/webike If you're curious about bike camping (maybe you're planning your first overnighter? Thinking about riding your bike to an event like Pickathon this summer?), or if you're a seasoned bike camper who wants to meet people with similar interests, then this clinic is for you! Come hang out with us in Laurelhurst Park to learn all the ins and outs of bike camping, including food, gear, route finding, and more. We couldn't be more excited about this clinic, because we have not one but two incredible guest presentations planned -- the first about protecting yourself against ticks while recreating outdoors, and the second all about camping food. You'll leave this clinic with handy packing lists, resource flyers, and plenty of new meal ideas. Find us at Picnic Table E, close to the restrooms off of Ankeny St. Coming by bus? Take TriMet route 20 to E Burnside & Laurelhurst and then head one block south into the park or TriMet route 75 to SE Cesar Chavez Blvd & Ash and follow the path around the north side of the lake to find us. We aim to dismantle the barriers of cycling through rides, knowledge-sharing events, meet and greets, and mentorship. The WeBike-Portland private Facebook group is a resource, hub, and a way to connect with others riding in the area. If you have any questions about biking or great biking tips you want to share, post them there!

Meet at 7, depart at 7:30. Sunset ain't gonna wait for us
10:00 PM
End location: A mystery!
Ride length: 3-8 miles
Did you know that on the night of the full moon, sunset is usually right before the moon rise? Let's hit up a spot where we can watch both! Stock up on snacks and libations before meeting up, then depart on a chill, slow-ish paced 5-mile (give or take) ride to our mystery destination. Ride not a loop. Lights, layers, and a picnic blanket are good ideas. Extra credit if you bring a telescope or good binoculars to observe the moon. Please note: THERE IS NO STORE STOP. There are markets near the ride start, so go there beforehand. There should be open bathroom(s) at the end. Also: RIDE NOT A LOOP, we end where we stop. If you need help getting back to the start, let me know. Rest assured, we will still be in "civilization" where we end, with Tri-Met service nearby. And most importantly: THIS IS A GOOD CONDITIONS RIDE. Clouds, rain, smoke, and excessive heat may cancel the ride. Check the Shift calendar on the day of ride for confirmation. Sunset 8:42 PM, Moonrise 9:03 PM.

Join us for the almost 4th annual Midwesterners Ride (I missed hosting last year). Calling all Midwest transplants to Portland. You count even if you lived in Chicago for only 3 months when you were 21, or if you were born in South Dakota but moved before you could walk. Heck, youbetcha count if you're just Midwest curious! Like last time, bring your best potluck contribution (hot dish, beer brats, scotcheroos, New Glarus, Cincinnatti chili, etc) and wear something that shows your Midwest pride. We'll eat, ride (follow the cheeshead!) and maybe do some other Midwest inspired activities. We'll end at a bar (optional) for ongoing hanging. We might argue about the exact boundaries of the Midwest, whether it is "soda" or "pop," and which state is best (obviously Wisconsin) but what we agree on: It's not the heat, it's the humidity. I better not keep ya. See ya soon, ope!

Thursday nights. Hard start at 8:05 PM. It's almost the weekend, so let's ride bikes. We roll from and return to Columbia Park (meet in front of the pool) for an hour-ish ramble through North Portland and beyond. No agenda beyond riding bikes with good people on a summer evening. Basket bikes, ATBs, all-road bikes, cruisers, "gravel" bikes, fancy bikes, old bikes, rusty bikes, whatever. If it can comfortably cruise at ~10 mph for an hour, it's welcome. Bring: -Front and rear lights (required) -Snacks if you'd like -water or optional beverage, maximum vibes. Meet: 7:45 PM . Roll: 8:05 PM sharp . Start & Finish: Columbia Park, in front of the pool. Come meet your neighbors and see what North Portland looks like after dark. Happy Hour before the ride last Thur of each month: 7/30 (6pm at Chill & Fill), 8/27 (TBD), 9/24 (TBD), 10/29 (TBD).
