Alberta Park (Plan B: Woodlawn Park), 1905 NE Killingsworth
We’ll meet by the Alberta Polo Courts and move to Woodlawn in case of a space conflict
Zack P.B.
Sun, Sep 14, 2025, 9:00 AM
9AM Start, Finish by 12PM to clear the court for "regular" bike polo
9/10 UPDATE: Due to a possible spacial conflict with roller hockey, Cargo Polo may likely relocate to Woodlawn City Park at NE Dekum & Claremont - in the walled-in basketball courts. If you don't see us at Alberta, we're at Woodlawn! The Capstone Event for Portland's One and Only Officially-Unofficial Cargo Bike Competition... Mallet-swinging, bucket-dumping, heavy bike action - its Bike Polo with Cargo bikes! Players should form pairs of one "pilot" and one "malleteer" riding on one full-size cargo bike. Teams of 4 go head-to-head, with 2 bikes per team and 2 players per bike! One player steers & pedals, the other handles the mallet. Mallets and balls will be provided. Full-size cargo bikes (that can carry an adult human passenger) are welcome & needed!! We'll play as many rounds as the number of participants allows until a winningest pair is determined - thus they will be showered in glory, praises, and perhaps a few prizes ;) Follow @CSOPDX on Instagram for more!

Jackdaw | 8th Anniversary | We've got a nice route planned for ya this Sunday, the 14th, for our 8th anniversary of Corvidae BC. We began with an intention of showcasing green routes for safe bicycling around the city while being being a safe space for our attendees. We've grown from 3 to (nearly!) 8 birb representatives and maintain a dedication for chill, no bullshit rides. There are no store stops, so bring your provisions. Bring a spare tube and some tools for quick fixes. Leave no trace, respect each other and our city. Don't ride in the oncoming lane or be reckless on our rides. We don't tolerate any racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, creepy or any other kind of violent behavior. Be cool and meet us for a ride from the Jackdaw.
Peninsula Park Rose Fountain, 700 N Rosa Parks Way, Portland, OR 97217
Meet at the Fountain or Gazebo (weather-dependent)
Corvidae BC
Sun, Sep 14, 2025, 1:00 PM
Meet at 1PM. Roll out at 2PM
Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. We aim to impress that this is a safe environment for all; no aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Please review our Corvidae Code of Conduct. Meet 2nd Sunday of every month Hang at 1 PM Wheels down at 2 PM sharp Bring your respect for each and the city. Leave no trace 🤘🏽

They created The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way). They collaborated with the first lady of country Tammy Wynette. They deleted their back catalogue. One August 23rd, at the height of their success in 1990s Britain, they went to Jura, Scotland, and set fire to a million pounds. The band's 1990 ambient album Chill Out (released by Wax Trax in the US) is one of the most beautiful and etheric pieces of music in existence, recorded in a continuous 44:43 minute live take. Taking the form of a road trip through the USA, soundscapes paint landscapes of rolling trains and fields, sunrises and sunsets, hopes raised, dreams dashed and wishes yet to be fulfilled. A soundtrack for the soul's movie, it's dotted with birds whistling, sheep bleating and a touch of Tuvan throat singing. Flashes of news reports, commercials and preachers also feature. Samples used are from Elvis, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen and Acker Bilk. We'll ride our bikes beside the train tracks, through industrial areas, by drive-thrus and gas stations and ice cream shops, past street art, under trees and along the river as we listen to this spirited slice of aural heaven, and record our own continuous 44:43 minute live take of the ride itself. Ride time is 44 minutes 43 seconds. Stay on at our final stop for KLF jams and creativity. More ride and route info to come, but we'll be justified and ancient as we roam the (Port)land all bound for Mu Mu land. At the start we'll have info about and messages from The KLF, who've given their blessing to the ride. Who knows, they make take over leading it in a manner as they deem fit. Suggestions for the ride: - Dress as a sheep to mimic the Chill Out album's bucolic cover. - Turn your bike into an ice cream van. - Wear a Queen of the South FC shirt or a smiley face or some KLF 2323 World Tour merch. - Decorate your bike with daffodils. - Bring along a copy of How to Be an Artist by William Ernest Drummond. - Bring along a Jimmy Cauty Lord of The Rings poster. - Bake a cake for someone on the ride with a note attached: "I have baked you a cake, here it is." After the ride is done we'll play more of The KLF's jams (DJs TBC) to dance to, and for anyone who wants to: - We'll record you speaking one sentence about the emotions and evocations that emerged within you while listening and riding along to Chill Out. We'll gift this as an audio file to Bill Drummond (along with a red, blue, yellow, black or white knitted square containing one thousand stitches (40 rows of 25 stitches)), and Jimmy Cauty. - Bring your own art supplies so we can all create something inspired by Chill Out at the end of the ride. We'll compile these into a book and gift it to Bill Drummond (along with a red, blue, yellow, black or white knitted square containing one thousand stitches (40 rows of 25 stitches)), and Jimmy Cauty. - Show us an item of yours that embodies 'what art is' to you. We'll photograph these and gift the composite image to Bill Drummond (along with a red, blue, yellow, black or white knitted square containing one thousand stitches (40 rows of 25 stitches)), and Jimmy Cauty. After this, we'll play KLF jams and other of-the-era house/trance/rave jams for anyone who wants to dance! America: What Time Is Love? It's when this ride takes place.

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop
Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Gather at the fountain!
Revoke the ICE Permit PDX
Wed, Sep 17, 2025, 4:30 PM
Meet at 4:30 pm, Ride at 4:50 pm
End location: Portland City Hall
Have you been walking down the street and suddenly a car is brought to a screeching stop a few feet from you? Have you been minding your own business when suddenly you find yourself scurrying for safety? Do our streets feel like places where you could comfortably commune with your neighbors? If you answer “No!” you may well be an immigrant, elderly, a child or someone who uses a mobility assistance device. You may be a person targeted by ICE for no other reason than your skin tone or your accent; you may be a child running around your neighborhood with your friends; you may be someone walking or biking or rolling to your local store to get some essentials. From ICE kidnappings to car-culture domination, our streets have been made unsafe because we have allowed that to happen. At this very moment, our city leaders have the opportunity to make us ALL safer by revoking the permit for the ICE facility in Portland AND by implementing safe-street measures that center people, not cars. This is the moment to understand that our struggles are inextricably intertwined! On Wednesday, September 17th, City Council Vice President Koyama-Lane will help lead a Bike Bus and Parade to City Hall to advocate for safe streets and Vision Zero (an effort to have zero transportation-related deaths). We ask that you join the bike parade not just in support of Vision Zero, but also to support revoking the ICE permit in Portland. Wear black and red to show solidarity with the struggles of our immigrant neighbors, and be prepared to raise your voices for justice. We believe that our streets should be safe for ALL Portlanders! This will be a short, slow ride from Salmon Street Springs fountain to City Hall. At City Hall there will be a rally to revoke the ICE permit.

Ride is a loop
End location: Salmom Springs or City hall
I have successfully reserved a 3 minute time slot during the "public comment" at City Hall sept 17th at 6pm. I will be pitching a city ordinance to make idling personal automobiles for longer than 5 minutes a ticketable offense (a non-moving violation in the same class as a parking ticket). Why do you care? Because you breathe in air. And a lot of air. Also because the rumble of idling cars is loud, and because the car idling population could spend thier money in other ways that could benefit the local economy (instead of burning it up out the tailpipe...) This ride is for discussion and to try to create momentum around the proposed city ordinance and to promote awareness of this proposed ordinance, generate a discussion around the idea, and get some good old fashioned excersize on the way home from work. No, you will not have a time slot to speak at the city hall, unless you happened to have signed up months ago, but you will have the chance to support me in my endevor by this bike ride. The ride will have to be very punctual. We'll have to meet at about 5:05 and leave at 5:25, also we'll have to have a decent (fast-ish) pace to the ride. You get bonus points if you wear a tie. Extra bonus points if you wear a suit and tie. Dress apparel for the win!!

TNR #546: Robin Returns <leaves at 7:50>
Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Sep 18, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements around 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements by 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Live Location: https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it’s safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Starts at about 9, people roll in and out through around 11
We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. We post the location every Thursday on the PDX Coffee Outside website, which our friend Chris updates, and our Instagram account.

Leave for 6:00 but probably 6:15
Whitney leads us again. She recently lead a Mellow Monday for the first time and loved leading so much was super happy to lead again for a Saturday night ride. We all know it’s getting colder and darker so we’re trying to get some warm day, last party rides in before the long bleakness sets in. Also, the weather is changing. Ride meets early so we can ride in the sunlight a little. Route will have a few dance spots. A store stop for safe clean bathroom access.

Rolling around noon
We are going to celebrate the sun and its life and season giving cycles by cycling into Fall on the day of the Equinox! More/route details to follow. Expect something like 30+ miles and ~2k elevation +funny biz. I am having a busy month, so this ride won't be extremely ambitious, and there won't be a sunrise start. My plan is to meet at a reasonable daytime hour (optional tea at start) and roll until sunset/equinox O'clock @8:19pm. Likely beer/food stop at or towards the end. Join us in celebrating the slow and stunning death of summer! Come prepared for potential weather. Bring snacks and water but travel light! Make sure you have lights for the evening. Consider giving your bike some attention for the upcoming fallen leaf and wetter season!

***WE ARE ON SE ORANGE, just outside school grounds to avoid upsetting the birds****First stop is David Lynch mural at SE 3rd/Market if you miss us at Abernethy*** Lady Gertrude (the Naked Hearts sound trailer) says that music helps create shared identity just as much as riding bikes together does, and at Mellow Mondays, we put the 2 together for riders aged 0 to 70+! On this ride we'll connect across generations by sharing something deep or embarrassing or surprising about our own taste in music, the band we were once in, the song someone wrote about us, or? Playlist! 55 songs – 1 for each year and each a new release – spanning 1970-2025. It's not a journey thru the genres of rock. I picked songs that I thought would create a fun vibe and most of 'em mean something to me. I tried to stay away from the Pedalpalooza Top 100, tho there are a few of those included as well. Route! 13ish miles. We'll visit the new David Lynch mural, then head up to Grant Park for some games and funny, music-themed, gettin' to know ya Q&A. Next we'll go east and drop down thru the golf course, then back to Abernethy. Prizes! There will be prizes! ALL prizes are items I've found in free boxes on the side of the road while out riding (this includes records! and creepy rocks with faces on them! (yeah, that one ⬆). Prizes will be awarded to oldest rider, youngest rider, the person wearing the oldest concert t-shirt, and? There are a couple of grand prizes. One artist appears twice on the playlist. Be the first to name this artist and win a CHOCOLATE WOMBAT (wait, did not find this one on the side of the road). Tell me what year has not one, but 2 new releases on the playlist, and win a Fisher Price turntable that plays 45s! (yep, side of the road) Dress! Please wear an old concert t-shirt! Or dress like your favorite recording artist? Or the one you appear as in your dreams? It also happens to be Joan Jett's birthday. She was one of my childhood heroes. Who was your recording artist childhood hero? I would like to know!
