We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. Take a bike tour showing off new greenways in the SE neighborhoods of Brentwood Darlington, Woodstock, and Mt. Scott-Arleta, and finishing at a brunch spot! Join our ride on Saturday, August 9th! This is a moderate-pace, no drop ride, and will be approximately 7 miles. This event is free and open to everyone. Join us for the Coffee to Books to Beer bike ride! This fun, laid-back social community ride is the best way to start the weekend, discover new spots, make connections, and have a good time. This month, we’ll meet at the courtyard behind Bread & Honey Cafe on N Vancouver at 9:45 AM to have a cup of coffee and chat with other riders. At 10:30 AM, we’ll kick off the ride, cruising for a 10-15 mile loop with a stop at a local bookstore midway and ending at an all-ages welcome venue around noon to hang out and have a beer. Every ride is a near-loop. This ride is family-friendly and designed for riders of all levels. The pace is easy, and the vibe is friendly. Everyone is welcome! We are going to try and host the Coffee to Books to Beer ride at least once a month from May through October from various locations. Keep an eye on the Shifts2Bikes calendar for more rides. Portland gets 36" of rain a year — join a 7-mile ride to explore how water flows through the city, how we work with water and how you are part of it. This 7-mile ride invites you to explore Portland’s relationship with water — visible and invisible, natural and built. We’ll visit places where water tells stories of the past, shapes the present, and reflects our choices about belonging, stewardship, and connection to place. From native plants to urban springs, from art to hidden infrastructure, we’ll trace the ways water moves through our city. You’re not just along for the ride — you’re part of the water cycle. While this is not a full loop, a loop can be made by riding 2 miles on 7th Ave (a bike friendly road) from the end point north to Irving Park. This is a ride for all ages interested. Remember: - Helmet - Water bottle - Sunblock - A Snack. Ride will go across Broadway Bridge to Tanner Springs, along NW waterfront to cross Steel Bridge, along eastbank esplanade, and then finish at the Depave Block Party on 7th & Sandy.

Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). We will make every effort to note weather-related closures here promptly.

👑 Princess Ride 👑 Princesses will unite for a star-studded, glammed-out ride in Northeast Portland. This is intended as a kid-focused ride, however all princesses are welcome — no matter your age, title, or kingdom. We'll begin our enchanted adventure at K Park at 10:30, where there will be plenty of time for an optional craft. We'll have supplies (and lots of bling!) for folks to make their own paper crowns to attach to their bike helmets. Once we’re all properly decorated, we’ll have wheels up at 11:00 and ride our majestic steeds to Fernhill Park for some royal leisure time. After we've exhausted ourselves, we’ll mount up once more and make our final procession to Pizza Jerk on NE 42nd, where princesses and their attendants can hang out, socialize, and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Shine your jewels, dust off your tulle, and bring the sparkle — we can't wait to ride with you! P.S. Princes will not be turned away.

Ever been to High Rocks on the Clackamas River in Gladstone? It's an awesome swim spot where the water stays cold year-round. So what better time to take a dip/dive than in the hottest part of summer? High Rocks is the perfect spot for every type of swimmer- places to just dip in, rocks jutting out a few feet above the water perfect for a cannonball, or take the challenge and jump from 20+ feet above the water. There are lifeguards on duty so everyone is safe. This is a one-way ride as the end point is the park and people are welcome to stay as long as they like. Bring sun block and water! Maybe even some snacks! The ride will start at Westmoreland Park in Sellwood at Hall Pond (approx. the intersection of SE 22nd and SE Rex St). From there we'll go through Sellwood and pick up the Trolley Trail that goes through Milwaukie and Oak Grove until it ends in Gladstone right near High Rocks (which is basically across the street from the DMV). It's between 8-9 miles one way to High Rocks.

Do you have a favorite Bikeway Character? Come dressed up as your chosen piece of thermoplastic street art and let's get together & bike about it! We've come a long way from the days of rogue city workers altering the ubiquitous bike lane symbol into something cheeky. Until recently, there was a whole team dedicated to bringing school kid's winning designs to life on our streets! Full colour unicorns, lipsticked slugs, Gloria Steinem quotes... We'll meander around town appreciating some old & new road art, try to snap photos with our inspirations, and reminisce about Sharrow Characters long paved over. Perhaps most importantly, by showing our love for these silly art instillations we can try to convince PBOT to BRING BACK the Bike to Books Coloring Contest that quietly ended in 2022. This year we're exploring a bit of central Portland. We'll pop over to the west side for a bit, and then back over to the east side, recrossing some paths we've explored in past year's routes. This is a gentile, 8ish mile meander that aims to collect as many sharrows characters as we can. Stick with us for a photobooth, spoke card making station, and costume prizes in a park at the end! Thermoplastic Map

Tempos Contemporary Circus is having a free performance in the Washington Park Amphitheater! Their show is a mix of acrobatics, dance and experimental theater. We'll have two meeting points, the first on the east side at Clinton City Park and the next on the west side at Director Park downtown. At Clinton City Park we'll meet at the south side along SE Woodward St near the tennis courts. We'll leave Clinton City Park at 4 pm to arrive at Director Park before 5 (meet along SW Taylor St side). We'll leave Director Park at 5 pm and start our uphill climb to the Rose Garden. The show starts at 6 pm. Bring a bike lock, a picnic blanket, sunscreen, jacket, water, food, bike lights, etc. We'll wait after intersections if the group becomes separated as corking is not expected. From Clinton City Park to Director Park it's ~5.5 flat miles, then 2 miles of steep uphills from Director Park to our destination in Washington Park. After the show the leader will ride back to Clinton City Park (~15 miles round trip). You are free to leave early/at any time. Participate at your own risk and check back the day of event for any weather-related cancellation. We follow the Shift Code of Conduct.

Riders who valet their bikes get a $5 gift card to Brickhaus Coffee or Clover + Booch, while supplies lasts. A ride to the Beaverton Night Market with an exploration of the Red Electric trail. This will be a socially-paced ride suitable for most ages. It is a no-drop ride with frequent pauses to keep the group together. Expect some mixed terrain with some small gravel, dirt, and bark-chip sections. We’ll make a point to coast through John Street before crossing the St Johns Bridge only to make a U-turn and cross it again!

Come ride with the Direct Action Everywhere! We an intersectional animal liberation group that is currently focused on asking restaurants in Portland to take foie gras off their menus! Foie gras is an extremely cruel practice where workers force feed ducks with tubes at least twice a day to enlarge their livers. California and New York City have already banned the sale of foie gras, we are asking Oregon to do the same, starting with individual restaurants! We will be biking and chanting F** foie gras (along with other animal liberation chants) and will be ending at Bistecca Woodfire Steakhouse, where we will protest outside on the public sidewalk to ask them to take foie gras off their menu! It's a FULL MOON! I've always wanted to do a full moon midnight Forest Park ride, and lucky me, it's a full moon on a Pedalpalooza Saturday night! I don't know what the hell I'm doing, so it'll be a semi no-drop ride. If you wanna go blast through this by yourself? Go ahead, my Lord If you wanna go at a chill pace with a feeble me? Thank you It's a pretty free-paced, enjoy at your own level kind of a ride, but if you're scared of the dark, then stick with us and we'll finish this together. Although it's a full moon, it'll be pretty damn dark in Forest Park, so make sure to bring some lights. Safety is key since you can really eat gravel and dust hard on a dark Forest Park downhill with no lights. It's a decent amount of climbing (1300 ft) and riding (27 miles), so bring fuel! Experience immersive theatrical genius on this thrilling cross between the murder mystery movie and the board game: CLUE. Amateur actors, amateur playwrights, HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND NOT AT ALL SILLY CLUES. Seven short skits will be performed at stops across Portland. No rehearsal. No memorization. No clue! Oh yeah, and we'll solve a murder. Your job is to be the detective and sniff out all the CLUES, in order to solve the who-what-where of the murder. Or you can relax and enjoy the bad jokes and over the top acting. Up to you! Audience members are at risk of being recruited to play roles! Dress up as your favorite character! Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer and collect dry non perishables for food donations every month. ​We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. Folding bikes are built for hopping on a train or bus so why not come on out to join us for Westside Bike Happy Hour on the MAX and then explore Beaverton a bit before jumping back on the MAX to Portland

Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

On hot days, the nights are wonderfully warm. There are few nights like this, with ideal bike-riding weather. I love night-time bike rides, as there are less cars, and the city is beautifully lit. We'll meet at 10pm at the Vera Catz statue at the East Bank Esplanade. The Vera Catz statue is just north of the Hawthorne Bridge, and just south of the intersection of SE Salmon St & East Bank Esplanade. We start riding at 10:30 pm. We'll ride back and forth across downtown bridges: Tillikum, Morrison, Burnside, Steel, and Broadway. There will be scenic, skyline views. After the first bridge, we'll stop at Insomnia Cookies (has vegan options). We'll have a second 15 minute social stop on the Morrison Bridge. Finally, around 1am, we'll end at Sunee Thai and Lao Kitchen (1400 SE Stark St, 97214), which is open until 2am and vegan-friendly. Riders are welcome to share a meal there. This will be a slow ride, paced for people learning to bicycle, enjoying scenery, and socializing. No one will be left behind. We’ll stay together as a group for safety.

We’ll be meeting at the Johnson Creek intersection on the Springwater Corridor Trail (next to the public storage and cruising) into downtown together. Show up and let the City know that traffic diverters/modal filters and greenways keep people on bike and on foot safe. Mayor Wilson is trying to remove traffic diverters from NW Portland in order to turn one-way streets for cars into two-way streets for cars. The City’s stated goals include sending more cars up NW 20th Ave directly into the Flanders greenway, which is the crown jewel of bike infrastructure for NW Portland. Even if you don’t live in NW, ripping out these diverters means that every diverter in the City is at risk. Every piece of concrete that keeps us safe is at risk if the City doesn’t understand that hard infrastructure keeps us safe. A ride honoring the legacy of John Michael Osbourne; AKA Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness (December 3rd, 1948 - July 22nd, 2025). Metal and the sprawling community it encompasses wouldn't exist today without four people getting together in Birmingham, England in 1968 and trying something new. This ride serves as a space to celebrate the life of Ozzy Osbourne and the heavy metal community as a whole. Metal has had an immeasurable impact on my life and it only seems right to be in community with each other when one of the originators passes on. The final Black Sabbath show, "Back to the Beginning" was a fundraiser for three nonprofits doing excellent work, many Birmingham-based. In the spirit of that final act by Ozzy and Sabbath, all who are able are encouraged to donate to Birmingham Children's Hospital, Acorn Children's Hospice and Cure Parkinson's. With how much need there is across the globe, feel free to donate to any cause that speaks to you in honor of Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Commute with the City Bike Bus every second Wednesday of the month through October! Hop on your bicycle and join one of nine unique bike bus routes coming from all over the city into downtown. At the end of the ride, we’ll all gather at Salmon Street Springs for coffee and treats. A bike bus is a group of students—but in this case, adults—biking to school—but in this case, downtown—together. Bike buses have been around for decades, but they have become increasingly popular in recent years. What's up? We are changing it up some when it comes to getting back at a decent hour! This will be a longer in distance and time and more of a evening meander through some neighborhoods which will include gravel, wood chips, stairs, bike paths, bike lanes, asphalt, and bridges! This 30+ mile route will include one steep punchy climb, you got this, and just under 900 feet of elevation. We are adventurous and faster but we keep that no drop mentality! Join the Columbia Slough Watershed Council and community bird walk leaders Thomas Meinzen and Ryan Gilpin for a day of biking and birding! The group will ride ~8 miles from Vanport to Smith and Bybee and back, hitting some of the best bird habitat that Portland has to offer. We’ll also be giving away a brand new pair of Nocs binoculars and a guidebook! Getting There: This event will start and end at 1809 N Broadacre Rd, Portland, OR 97217, a short ride from the Delta Park/Vanport MAX Station. Free parking is available on site. What To Bring: Bring a bike, helmet, lock (just in case), water, binoculars, and your sense of adventure on this unique ride. Snacks will be available, as well as extra binoculars! Hello, Sellwood families! SMILE’s Transportation Committee is hosting a BIKE BUS from Llewelyn School to Sellwood Park every Friday morning this summer. Beginning Friday, June 20, the Bike Bus will depart from the front of Llewelyn Elementary School every Friday morning at 9:50, ride a loop on bike-friendly roads and greenways, and conclude at Sellwood Park at 10:10 (map, route information, and pickup times can be found at bit.ly/sellwood2025). The ride will be family-friendly, with music, an adult ride leader, and a caboose rider. Helmets are required for anyone under 16 years old. Kids riding on their own bike should be at least 8 years old and able to ride for a couple of miles. Younger kids may join with parental support. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend! All bikes should be in good condition. The pace will be fairly slow, and nobody will be dropped. Don't forget locks for bikes to lock up at the park. NOTE: The Bike Bus will only go to Sellwood Park; riders will return on their own. THE SHACK IS BACK! And of course, once you arrive at the park, there will be plenty to do all day at The Shack, hosted by the Sellwood Community House. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. The August monthly ride is a loop ride that is classified as moderate to difficult. This ride will use all gears and brakes. The ride will traverse dirt trails, steep hills, and narrow paths, occasionally near traffic. The ride begins at Milwaukie Bay Park and heads north to the Sellwood Bridge. After crossing the bridge cyclists will ascend 500 ft up the cemetery switchbacks, take a break, and go on to Lewis & Clark College, Tyron Creek State Natural Area, and Lake Oswego. Eventually arriving in Gladstone for a well deserved lunch at the Arlington Taphouse and Food Carts before returning to Milwaukie. Total mileage back to downtown Milwaukie is around 25 miles. This ride, although very challenging, is going to be a thrill because of the challenges and the environment you encounter. The ride will put a huge smile on your face!!! That being said, make sure to bring extra hydration, snacks, and a bike repair kit(tire). Warning: The ride is challenging and NOT RECOMMENDED for INEXPERIENCED riders and those riders with physical limitations.

You’ve heard of the Dead Freeways Ride exploring the Portland freeways we’ve never built or removed entirely, but what about all the freeways that did get built? Did you know that the majority of Portland-area freeways are legally open to bikes and non-motorized vehicles? Did you know that Oregon State Parks were originally developed as a branch of the Oregon State Highway Department thanks to the same declaration that preserved public ownership of our Pacific beaches? A representative from the Bureau of John Russell will be on hand to familiarize everyone with the intricacies of OAR 734-20-0045: Prohibition of Non-Motorized Vehicles on Freeways. He’ll show you the ropes, having ridden every mile of freeway in Western Oregon himself. With over 50,000 miles of cycling experience, and thousands of miles of unsupported bike touring, he will also show everyone the ropes of bike touring and camping, so please come prepared with hammocks, tents, sleeping bags, and anything else you need for an enjoyable night outdoors at LL Stub Stewart State Park. There may be an attempt to provide a support vehicle to carry gear for those with limited carrying capacity, but support is not guaranteed. Please bring approximately $20 cash to cover camping fees, MAX fare, food, and firewood, etc. but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Meet at 11, ride at 11:30 am. We’ll be starting in SW Portland at the Goose Hollow MAX Station (SW 18th & Jefferson). For the main portion of the ride, we'll travel on over 20 miles of wide shoulders in a nearly straight line along US 26, originally planned as the "Wolf Creek Highway" and more commonly known today as the Sunset Highway. After a supply stop in Banks, we'll enjoy a much quieter afternoon along the car-free Banks Vernonia Trail before making camp at two reserved hike-in camp sites at L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park, for a total of ~35 miles on Saturday. On Sunday, we will break camp (1 PM checkout) and meander up to 30 miles back to the MAX Blue line in Hillsboro through scenic rural Washington County. In total, the ride will be an approximately 65 miles long over two 30- to 35-mile days. While the route does not loop, we will connect to the MAX on each end, so please bring appropriate fare unless you want to bike the whole way home. For those of you who would prefer to ride on your own and meet us along the way or at camp, an approximate route is posted below. Please do not drive to the campground without coordinating beforehand, as parking may be limited at costs $10/night. Meet at 1PM roll at 1:30PM. Ride will end at the Rainbow Road public plaza on Ankeny and 28th so we can eat and chat! Our vision is simple: it should be legal for any residential lot from roughly 12th to 60th, Fremont to Powell, to contribute to a thriving, mixed-income, mixed-use fabric of urban neighborhoods by allowing street-scale apartment buildings. Portland: Neighbors Welcome has been campaigning to make this a reality, and we hit a huge milestone a few weeks ago: Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability has released the results of their Inner Eastside Infrastructure Study, which examined how the current infrastructure could handle to opening up these neighborhoods to more neighbors! Our third annual Inner Eastside for All ride will take us on a tour though the study area as we talk about the results and envision what the future of Portland's Inner Eastside can look like! Our wonderful friends at Strong Towns PDX and BikeLoud will join us to talk about the fiscal wisdom of siting new housing where we already have developed infrastructure, and why allowing more people to live in our most bike friendly neighborhoods is an essential part of meeting our transportation goals! The Gaza Sunbirds are a paracycling team from Gaza who are calling on cyclists around the world to ride with them this weekend in solidarity with Gazans and Palestinian prisoners. We'll be riding not just in solidarity with Palestine, but with oppressed people and prisoners everywhere! Through poetry, music, food, art, and storytelling, we'll get riders engaged with liberation struggles from Palestine to the Philippines, from Oregon to Iran. Meet us at Laurelhurst Park at 5:30 for some speakers. Roll out at 6 and ride along with us to 3 different stops where we'll learn about other causes (and how they're all connected). The 2025 Lord of the Rings Ride, To the Mt. Tabor Caldera and Back Again. Mount up, brave riders! Join our fellowship on a magical quest to the Mt. Tabor Caldera Amphitheater—about a half-mile climb through enchanted lands (okay, it’s Portland, but go with it). We’ll pause at the amphitheater to regroup, then venture a little higher—not quite to Mordor, but close enough. Costumes are encouraged! Capes, cloaks, wizard hats—bring your best Middle-earth vibes. Don’t forget your metaphorical One Ring to toss into our imaginary lava lake! All riders, all wheels, all welcome. LOTR gatekeeping will be met with good-natured mockery and second breakfast jokes. Title says it all. A dive into the music of The Cure. Given the importance, of this band for making so many people feel they’ve a place, we’re open to song requests via insta comments (Not DM’s) and at the start. Music will cover from their early punk ish roots too their Opus ‘Disintegration’ and the newly EDM remixed Cure approved tracks. There will be dancing. There might be karaoke for those who feel moved. Mascara, teased hair and billowy blouses are not mandatory. As with all our rides, we practice consent and non-violence.

See the top of a MAX Train, ride over cars and check out the newest park in Portland all in one ride! This ride is a 4-mile down and back route starting at Ventura Park and following bike-friendly streets and the I-205 pedestrian overpass to the newly renovated Berrydale Park. Our ride will be suitable for young bike riders who can pedal their own bike in a straight line. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line without training wheels, start and stop, and follow instructions. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for younger or less confident kids, or in case kids get tired of pedaling. Join us for a leisurely Sunday morning ride leading from the Beaverton City Library to the Tigard Public Library! Bring a book (or check one out at our destination) and some cash for the Tigard Farmer's Market, which we will pass shortly before reaching the Tigard Public Library. The planned route covers 6.6 miles of mostly-flat terrain and almost exclusively follow the Fanno Creek Trail. Expect a small amount of road cycling along SW 5th Street & low-traffic neighborhood greenways during the first 25% of the route, then paved multi-use paths with minimal street crossings the rest of the way. This is a no-drop ride and we will cycle at a relaxed social pace (under 10 mph) - that way we can safely travel around any pedestrians (or ducks) on the trail. We will also make a water/bathroom pit stop about halfway along the route. Lastly, there will be an optional return ride that will depart 2 hours after we arrive at the Tigard Public Library. This 9.3 mile return route will be more adventurous, mostly emphasizing low traffic greenways and residential streets and occasionally crossing paths with the Fanno Creek Trail. We will swing further west and then north to pass through Summerlake Park Reservoir; cut through the Downing Greenway to get back to FCT; make a right on SW Denney and proceed north along the elevated bikeway on SW Western Ave; and lastly make a left on SW 5th Street to finish up at the Beaverton City Library. On this ride we will be exploring the ex-boyfriend genre of music, including but not limited to: the National, Bright Eyes, Interpol, and more. While the organizers have a certain brand of hipster indie ex-boyfriend in mind, please queer all of the above, including the word boyfriend. An expansive definition of ex is also welcome. Maybe you’re the boyfriend—do you insist that others “have to listen to the album straight through?” Did you make your partner listen to Neutral Milk Hotel’s “early stuff” while moving to Portland? Did you ask them to move with you without /quite/ asking them to move with you? The important thing is, this person probably cares a lot about music and vinyl and hi fi audio, and like, speakers. Come dressed as your ex (first person wearing their ex’s Joy Division t-shirt gets a prize)—you can sell the fit at Give & Take while we have a corrective crate digging experience at Speck’s where our ride will formally break up. Each ride in this series will start at a Multnomah County Library (MCL) branch and end at a different library system, with an opportunity to sign up for a card at both locations. Did you know that if you live in any Portland area county — Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, or Clark — you can get library cards for all of those systems? Each library system has a unique selection of materials and services, so collect 'em all! Libraries also make great pit stops while out riding — water, bathrooms, a quiet spot to stop and rest without having to spend money — so knowing your library branches can be very useful even when farther from home. First up is Vancouver — officially, Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries (FVRL). We'll start at the MCL North Portland branch, swing by the recently-reopened MCL Kenton branch, then head over to Vancouver to the downtown Vancouver Community Library branch. The exhibit on display at the library was created by participants in the Chronic Pain Project and "the art created is a visual representation of their experience of pain intended to provoke conversation and promote understanding the wide variety of experiences people have with chronic pain." Back for its 15th year, Get Lost! is a Pedalpalooza Bike Ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (odd total = R, even =L). We ride until we find a natural end point. Meet at a park. Tie rope decoratively over your self and friends. Then we'll ride with the patterns still on! People wear rope for many reasons: it's beautiful, artistic, a connecting activity, to take photos, and/or to get good at knots. We'll start by tying outdoors in the park for an hour. Bring a blanket, your own rope, and all you need for your ties. There's no official class or instruction. Time in the park will be an open "rope jam", time for experimentation, fun, and/or socializing. We’ll take greenways and bike lanes, to minimize interactions with drivers… because Portland’s bicycle network is incomplete, there may be short necessary portions of sharing larger roads, and we’ll stay together as a group for safety.

Come wind down after a summer of high-energy Pedalpalooza rides and join us for our third annual Ambient ride, the chillest Pedalpalooza ride of the season. Swiftwalkers is a laid back social bike ride sound-tracked by ambient music and concluding with a live ambient performance with tea. We'll meet at Lone Fir Cemetery outside the large mausoleum and make our way through SE towards Mt. Tabor. We will conclude the ride at the Mt. Tabor Amphitheater with a live ambient performances and visuals, all accompanied by traditional Chinese Gongfu tea. Be prepared for the last leg of the ride as it will be an uphill journey to reach the amphitheater. Sometime in the middle 19th century, stone mile markers were placed along the length of what became SE Stark St. From the Willamette to the Sandy River, these milestones helped travellers navigate what was once a wild area. Over the years these markers were largely forgotten, yet miraculously over half still remain! We'll take a leisurely bike tour to see the markers that still remain from MP2 to MP7. Ride is not a loop but will end near the SE 122nd MAX Station on the Blue Line. After the ride ends there will be an option for interested folks to get food and libations. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed.
