Sun, Aug 13, 2023, 9:00 AM
Meet at 9:00, roll by 9:30
End location: Helvetia Farm Market, 23137 NW West Union Rd, Hillsboro, OR 97124 (near Portland-bound MAX)
This is a fun one! Basically a modified and shortened version of OMTM's Beyond Pumpkin Ridge route. We will start from Beaverton, meeting at Oyatsupan Bakery to power our legs with some truly excellent Japanese bread and pastries. From there, we'll put our Panaracer tires to work (or really any other tire). Quickly zipping through a few Beaverton / Hillsboro neighborhoods before we cross West Union into the hills. Following along roads familiar to Seltzer stalwarts, we'll eventually reach the end of the pavement and the start of some delectable and fast rolling gravel. Hopping a fence or two to take in some doubletrack along the way, we'll eventually zoom down towards Pumpkin Ridge. When the pavement returns, we'll be close to our final destination of Helvetia Farm Market for a cold, local lemonade. Minimum of 35c tires recommended, but if you have wider ones you might want to consider them. Some of the gravel is a quite loose, and the more rubber you can get on the road, the better the experience. Note the start at 9:00AM (to beat the heat, at least a little)!

Think all the good riding is in Portland? That Beaverton is all cars and roads? Did you know that the Tualatin Hills Parks Rec District has 60 miles of hard and soft-paved trails? Have you been to the Linear Park and Pirate Park? Join us on a ride to explore this western wonderland. Around 35 miles. The early parts are flat, but there will be plenty of hills - around 2000 ft. of climbing. About half is on paved bike trails, half on roads. There will be a short section of riding on an unpaved trail. Nobody left behind - we'll go at a moderate pace and it may take us around 6 hours. Some of the stops include: Pirate Park, Jenkins Estate, Cooper Mountain Nature Park (for the view), Progress Ridge (dining stop including New Seasons), Summerlake Park, and Tualatin Hills Nature Park. You'll probably want to eat beforehand - or else bring a sandwich and eat it at our first stop, Pirate Park. Bring plenty of water and snacks. There are a number of restroom stops along the way. There's also a convenience store about halfway through the ride.

Raven leads a fountain hop - Trying to beat the heat? Join CORVIDAE Bike Club as we splash our way across town. We will end at the Duckworth dock on the east side to go swimming, bring your swim gear and sunblock. We will have a very casual pace, approx 5-10 miles. There will be no store stop, but as we will spend at least 30 min at both fountain stops there will be time for people to go grab what they need and come back. Essentials include spare bike tubes, a few tools, sunblock & swimwear, provisions & water!

Sun, Aug 13, 2023, 1:00 PM
Meet at 1PM. Roll out at 2PM
Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. We aim to impress that this is a safe environment for all; no aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Please review our Corvidae Code of Conduct. Meet 2nd Sunday of every month Hang at 1 PM Wheels down at 2 PM sharp Bring your respect for each and the city. Leave no trace 🤘🏽

Viv, the bicycle instructor
Sun, Aug 13, 2023, 2:00 PM
2-4pm, come at beginning or drop-in anytime
4:00 PM
This is a free, drop-in, learning environment, overseen by a bicycle instructor. Participants will ride around a car-free block, practicing beginner bike skills. We’ll practice moving forward, braking, turning, shifting, signaling your intention to turn, checking over your shoulder to ensure it’s safe to turn, and moving confidently through intersections. We’ll practice on a wide, safe street that is closed to cars. This is for people new to cycling. I’ll get you started, and get you ready for Pedalpalooza rides! If you feel brand new, come 15 minutes early, so we can promptly practice all the beginner skills in sequence. Or, if you just have a few questions/concerns, drop in any time during this event, and stay for as long as you'd like to learn. The street is large enough that numerous participants can work on their own skills at their own pace. I’ll assess each person to work on the skills they specifically need. Even if you're not interested in riding, come if you have questions about how to bike around town. I’m a certified bicycling traffic instructor, who has been teaching for nearly 15 years. These "parking lot drills" come from the national curriculum, and have taught thousands of adults. This is for ages 16+. I can also teach ages 9-15 if parents stay and work with their kids. Requirements: Bring a helmet. Know how to balance a bit, even if you're unsteady. Bring your own bicycle, or there's a Biketown station on this block that rents bikes (via the Lyft app).

Pedal a short easy tour of Portland's five levels of government and some of their meeting locations. Learn how Portland is governed and how to get involved with public meetings, advocacy campaigns, ballot initiatives, elections, or other ways to participate. Sign the STAR Voting 2024 petition and learn how else you can help get this game-changing measure onto next year's state ballot. STAR Voting is an innovative voting method for more representative elections. Instead of being limited to picking just one candidate, you can score as many candidates as you like, showing your preference order and your level of support for the options. STAR Voting empowers voters to express their views and opinions more accurately, ensures that voters are able to vote their conscience without wasting their vote, combats polarization, and does a better job at electing winners who actually represent the will of the people. Enjoy a casual group ride and chat with STAR Voting volunteers about why STAR is different from other voting methods, how elections can be tools for understanding majority opinion and consensus-building, and what lets STAR elections cut through the gotchas that keep us trapped in a two-party system.

End location: We usually end just behind Creston School in their park, that is still connected to Creston Park. :o)
Sometimes all our kids need is a lil push to take off on their bikes. This event is everything that's great about riding bikes and is for VERY young riders! Fun with friends/peers, encouragement and riding tips with fun clownie people who ride bikes all the time, a safe riding space away from traffic, taking breaks to play on the playground and building confidence in ourselves, in our beautiful urban park surrounded by trees! So here's what we do: We meet at the playground near Francis St. entrance to group up. You'll find Olive in a giant bow and Dingo in a tophat--each with tall bicycles. Grown-ups, please plan to supervise your kiddos as they ride depending on your child's skill level. You could easily stand in the center grassy area and watch them ride the loop. Bring, helmets, water, and a snack, yes! We'll make sure our bikes are ready for action, sing a song, and then we ride the quarter mile loop. It's paved and away from cars but it can be a tad bumpy on parts. We ride the loop a couple times with playground breaks in between. All the things we can do to practice good bike skills, we do! We ride, we slide, we encourage our friends, we repeat! We stay at Creston for the whole ride and end in the "secret park" as we call it, still on site. Event is FREE but donations in cash or Venmo are totally accepted for balloons and popsicles at the end of the ride and for Olive and Dingo community cycling efforts. Keep being awesome and so will we! Any questions, please ask. :o)

What if…Portland built all the freeways it planned? This approx 10 mile ride follows the routes of several highways that never made it off the drawing board, such as the fabled Mt. Hood Freeway, some that did but were later removed, like Harbor Drive, and also as a reference some freeways that currently exist. We’ll see the parallels of the past freeway fights with what’s going on with current and future projects. At the end we’ll have the opportunity to stop for food/drinks and more discussion.

Kristie aka LZRDMOM
Mon, Aug 14, 2023, 6:30 PM
Meet at 6:30, ride at 7:40
Ride is a loop
Hi, I'm Kristie and I like lizards! You've likely seen my LZRDMOM bike license plate around town. Come join me on the 2nd annual World Lizard Day ride!!! August 14th is World Lizard Day, so we will be honoring our ectothermic pals by maybe basking on some warm surfaces, maybe-not eating bugs (unless you want to! or if you accidentally ingest them lol), but DEFINITELY making some beaded lizards and riding bikes! I’ve moved the beaded lizard craft time to before the ride and also to continue during the store stop (if it’s still light out). So COME EARLY FOR CRAFT TIME! After crafting to get us ready and rarin’ to lick our eyeballs—uh, I mean Ride Bikes—we will scuttle out on a route that passes some lizard-themed spots, giving myself and others opportunities to share Fun Lizard Facts! There will be park/store/pet store stop. You do not need to own a reptile to come on this ride. This is lizard appreciation! And all herp lovers are welcome too! That means all you snake, turtle, amphibian, and crocodile/alligator peeps! Props if multiple people show up wearing crocs, I would love that hahaha. This ride will be a loop and feature a playlist that may inspire you to eat buggs or an eggplant parm. For the beaded lizard craft time at the beginning, I'll have a ton of pony beads of assorted colors (though feel free to bring your own in case you have some laying around!), string, and a how-to zine to reference while making your own lizard! Yay! Route will be about 10 miles, and will be posted day of! And please, for the love (and stress) of all things scaley, do not bring your pet lizard on the ride portion of this ride. :)
Message me at @waldrooop on insta if you have questions!

Ride is a loop
Mellow Mondays rides are an ongoing ride for chilling with friends and welcoming new people to our community. Gift sharing is optional and small gifts such as snacks or stickers are just an easy way for us all to come together and get to know each other. We will have different ride leaders now and then but we all foster our community of joy and acceptance starting from a place of trust and safety. All of our rides are safe spaces and we foster a community of acceptance and mutual regard. Additional information: We strongly recommend any and all PDX:Unity rides and the warm/safe atmosphere they create for our marginalized communities. (We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes on N Williams, they’re a small community oriented business that have had some issues with vandalism recently. They’ve also got a stellar reputation and care about their work and us.)

PDX Unity Ride
Tue, Aug 15, 2023, 6:00 PM
We'll start around 7pm. Bike Farm opens at 5:30 so you're welcome to come early and hang or work on your bike.
Wanna learn how to fix a flat? PDX Unity Ride will be hosting a Flat Fix Clinic on Tuesday, August 15 at Bike Farm, 1810 NE 1st Ave. We'll start around 7 p.m. and we'll discuss some of the basic tools and equipment to keep on you at all times so you don't get stranded due to a flat. You'll also get hands-on time to practice changing out a flat and to practice using a patch kit. You may bring your bike to practice on but Bike Farm also has some bikes on hand. This is a cooperative learning workshop; we'll have leaders to guide you, but we want everyone to be able to learn from one another! Bring your questions and bring your know-how to share. THIS IS AN INDOOR EVENT: Bike Farm is currently masks-optional on Tuesdays, but we encourage those who join us for this clinic to wear a mask. We'll have some on hand if you need one. Additionally, please stay home if you don't feel well, have been in close contact with someone who's been sick in the last 7 days, or are recovering from COVID and are still testing positive. Additionally, we ask that you consider making a small donation to Bike Farm to help cover the costs of programs like these. We hope to see you there. ------------ This event is presented by PDX Unity Ride, a queer- and trans-friendly cycling collective that's working to build community through a shared love of cycling.

WE WILL BE GOING TO THE WILLAMETTE RIVER THIS WEDNESDAY, AUG 30. Ride leaves at 6pm DJ PopCartPDX will be spinning tunes at Duckworth Dock. SPECIAL MUSICAL GUEST - Ramblxr !!! The Duckworth Summer Wednesdays End of Summer Blast FINALE with DJ PopCartPDX and Ramblxr! Duckworth Summer Wednesdays, a collaboration between Human Access Project and Lloyd EcoDistrict, combines live mixing from bike DJ PopCartPDX, lifeguarded swimming, lounging, people watching, and sunset viewing. We aim to cultivate a positive culture of inclusivity and fun and highlight the Duckworth Dock as a key amenity of Lloyd District. This is your chance to dive into the best swimming hole in central city Portland, right on the Eastbank Esplanade. Although an Oregon Health Advisory is still in effect from Ross Island Lagoon to Cathedral Park, visual observations, significant drop in river temperature (currently 72 degrees), satellite imagery and a nice rain Monday morning indicate that it is now safe to return to the river. The River Hugger Swim Team is back to our regular schedule of swimming, we returned to the river on Saturday. For those who are interested in swimming we will have lifeguards on site, and of course the Willamette River has lots to offer if you just want to dip your feet in over the edge, listen to music, people watch and take in the bridges, Amtrak trains crossing the river and the sunset. We will have a diving competition at 6:45pm. In addition to PopCartPDX DJing, we will have two other guest DJ's plus the famous Ramblxr who you may remember seeing a lot of at the World Naked Bike Ride after party. Ramblxr plays Celtic EDM, it's quite mind blowing to see and experience live. Ramblxr will be playing right after our diving competition from 7pm till dusk. HAP'sters - let's send summer out with a bang. Hope to see ya there! Best way to get to Duckworth is to ride your bike, there is lots of bike parking on site. Taking transit is a close second - Rose Quarter Transit Center is a short 15min stroll to Duckworth. For those who drive there is metered street parking on NE Oregon under the I5 overpass between the Rose Quarter and Convention Center. There is also a private parking lot on NE Lloyd behind the convention center and esplanade. Many thanks to our sponsors and partners to help make this happen - you rock! Point West Credit Union, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Portland Events & Film, Broadway Minuteman, Bike Loud, Bike Portland, SUP PDX, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Portland Parks and Recreation, Kaiser Permanente, The River Starts Here, and Metro!

I was a bit bummed to not see rides on Friday morning when I am off... so be the change you want in the world. I might post this up as a weekly event all summer long, but the route might change to not be too repetitive.. This includes purposefully hilly routes but with some decent breaks between to recover and replenish. To keep the group together there are stops after each big hill (Fulton Park, top of the cemetery, and the overlook at Chart House) This will be a ~15 mile road ride with +/1400 feet elevation - HILLY! We ride as a group on flats on hills we climb but wait at the top of the effort last person to the top picks when we keep going JUNE Route (1100 feet) https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43196899 JULY Route (1400 feet) https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43407349 AUGUST Route (1600 feet) https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43456198

Long week? All those Pedalpalooza rides starting to blur into one big bike party hangover? Then Thank God It's Denim Vest Friday!!! This casual ride is for Denim Vest riders, wannabes, and anyone into the patch-and-pin vibe. And since Baerlic Brewing is Denim Vest Friday headquarters, it makes sense to start at Baerlic on Alberta, visit Baerlic on Halsey, and end with a patch and pin exchange at Baerlic in Ladd's. Denim vest not required, but bring something for the exchange at the end.

Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. Meet at 7pm, roll out 7:30/7:45ish
The Opera ride returns. Our second installment of this extremely beautiful ride. This is hosted by regular ride leaders Amy and Moorland but they’re representing our Trolling and Mischief division. We will listen to a carefully curated playlist that’s interspersed with movie dialogue to add a narrative arc to the dramatic tones. There will be a store stop. We will go into places that reverberate and we will seek serenity inducing views for our route. We’ve also been invited to Shenaniganza again. A pop up art and music crew. Our end spot will have food vendors, live shows and such. Funnily enough, The Phish ride returns tonight too, Jeff is also referencing a music term. Will the rides merge? Maybe. Will we troll The Phish ride? The answer is yes, this ride trolls hard and all and wherever it can. Will we make a nuisance of ourselves? Absolutely. Yet, all with the background gloriousness of Opera!

100 miles (or less!). Some hillz. 99.9% paved. Lots of bike path, some road. Drop ride but plenty of regroup stops. Two ice cream stops and food cart finish before the final hill. Are you a bit nervous about riding 100 miles? This route has a couple of out & back sections that make it ideal for early bailouts, and much of the route is close to transit too. Unlike most Pedalpalooza rides, this is a "drop ride", which means everyone is free to ride whatever pace they like. ROUTE: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40331712 Ride With GPS is a Portland company with a great app. It is highly recommended you download the free app on your phone before the ride so you can refer to it as needed. It will be easier to follow the route (and less drain on your phone battery) if you don't "record the ride", just have the route on your phone to check. Paper maps and cue sheets will also be available at the start. If you are running late, some extras will be left under a rock at the northwest corner of the laundromat parking lot.

Everyone is welcome to PEDAL! Please register on our website if you want to PADDLE at the end of the ride: https://www.columbiaslough.org/events-list/pedal-to-paddle-the-columbia-slough-watershed The Columbia Slough Watershed exists because of land, elevation, water, and gravity! We will follow gravity from a high place to a low place through the Cully neighborhood and then paddle in canoes at the Slough, a small, slow, skinny side channel of the Columbia River (also known as Wimahl and Nch'i-Wàna) that is home to turtles, beavers, freshwater mussels, and countless bird species. Route: This 4.2 mile, one-way ride, will begin at the soccer field behind Beaumont Middle School (4043 NE Freemont St) one of the highest places in the watershed (250ft), and will stop at different sites as we descend in elevation, ending at Whitaker Ponds (7040 NE 47th Ave) which is 14 ft in elevation. When we arrive at Whitaker Ponds, all participants will receive a life jacket, paddle, and seat in a boat for our ~1 hour paddle. Check in starts at 9:30am, event begins at 10am.

What the heck is a bollard? A bollard is a short pole or column stuffed into the ground to protect pedestrians and pedestrian spaces from motor vehicles. Want to keep cars off hiking trails? Stick a bollard at the trailhead! Want to keep traffic off the sidewalks? Line them with bollards! Are you looking for physical separation between bike lanes and automobiles? You guessed it, more bollards! For those who already know, and those who would like to know more-- this is a ride all about pedestrian safety devices. This ride is hosted by members of StrongTowns PDX, and we'll be focusing on one of the most cost effective methods of separating vehicles from pedestrians, and imagining a safer Portland for all. This ride will have a tactical urbanism flair! We will be installing paper bollards at various locations along the route to highlight the cost effective infrastructure improvements PBOT could make to improve pedestrian safety. Better street design saves lives. Please bring panniers or cargo bikes to help us haul the bollards! Safety-themed costumes very much appreciated.

“Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.” -- Dr Cornel West Biking, walking, and being in public spaces are not equal experiences for all Portlanders. The rise in hate incidents for API folks during the pandemic has made being in public spaces feel less safe and welcoming. Join in this ride to be in Asian community together, and take up space in solidarity for the safety, peace, and belonging that we deserve when traveling and hanging out in our city. FREE spoke cards available while supplies last! Ride info: The route is a 6.5-mile loop ride that will start at Laurelhurst Park and end there. There will be one larger uphill and one larger downhill both on relatively calm streets. We will make a stop to show some love at an Asian grocery store & pick up snacks for the picnic. Park info: We will gather at Laurelhurst Park, west of the bathrooms. This ride is organized in collaboration with Asian American Town. Follow @asianamericantown to get updates and more background stories behind this event. They will plan for activities at the park for folks who are not riding, and for post ride too. To plan for the park activities (especially if you're not riding), please email asianamericantown@gmail.com so they know you're attending. Everyone is invited to bring their own snacks and drinks for post-ride festivities. Who can attend: This ride is meant for communities of color, centering Asian and Pacific Islander cyclists, and their family members and loved ones. White folks/accomplices are supporting us by offering help during the ride (corking, sweeping, general safety) and making sure that API folks' participation are prioritized. Bike access: Don't have a bike? Use promo code LOVE81923 for $40 BIKETOWN credit so you can e-bike from your home to the park and join the ride. Redeem this code in the BIKETOWN or Lyft app under Rewards.

Do you have a favorite Bikeway Character? Come dressed up as your chosen piece of thermoplastic street art and let's get together & bike about it! We've come a long way from the days of rogue city workers altering the ubiquitous bike lane symbol into something cheeky. Now there's a whole team dedicated to bringing school kid's winning designs to life on our streets! Full colour unicorns, lipsticked slugs, Gloria Steinem quotes... we'll meander around town appreciating some old & new road art, try to snap photos with our inspirations, and reminisce about Sharrow Characters long paved over. This year we're exploring southeast Portland. We've created a 9ish mile route with some climbs and some descents as we try to collect as many sharrows characters as we can between Clinton City Park and Sellwood Park. Stick with us for a photobooth, coloring contest, special guests, and costume prizes at the end! Need costume inspiration? tinyurl.com/bikelaneart will take you to a map of sharrows characters I've logged from across Portland, feel free to email me any other I've missed - let's crowdsource this collection! Also @bicycleroutefound is a GREAT follow on instagram with *mostly* local-to-Portland art on the streets.

Rescheduled for 9/16

Moved to September date!
Pdx Nonbinary Collective
Sun, Aug 20, 2023, 5:30 PM
Ride leaves @ 7:00
8:00 PM
Ride is a loop
Moved to SEPT 16!! Please read the PDX Open Letter that is linked below to understand our commitment to collective health. "Mask First. Then Helmet." is a pro-mask cycling crew coordinated through PDX Non-Binary Collective and organized with Disability Justice principles. This TWO-FEATURE EVENT invites pro-mask cyclists AND covid-conscious individuals to come together. To be honest, the ride is *NOT* our primary focus. Connection is. We use the Discord app to plan masked rides, year-round, and want to help more people feel confident while using that tool to build community... before the seasons starts to turn and isolation vibes increase again. Let's talk about it in a face-to-face setting where we can literally point to the problems, ask questions, and find solutions together! THEN comes the group ride! (departing at 7:00) We'll roll over to Gateway Green Park where there's a bunch of different bike trails to explore and return to Gateway Discovery Park after an hour or so. We can split up in the park and maintain connection through the group chat to safely coordinate our final departure. Headlights may be helpful closer to the end of this ride. WHAT TO BRING: • N95* or other high-filtration mask • Helmet • Headlight of some kind • A charged smart phone • Any seat or mobility device you may need • Hydration source & snack (optional) • Flat tire kit (optional) • First aid kit (optional) *extras available, for any who forget. Adaptive cycles, ebikes, mountain bikes, street bikes, and skateboards are all welcome to join. We take breaks whenever anyone requests a rest. One of our co-leads has a tow rope to assist with inclines. Please email us pdxnonbinaries@gmail.com ASAP for more info on how to find an ebike that meets your needs. Are people expected to ride bikes? Only if they want to! The group ride departs AFTER the skillshare has completed. We welcome AND ENCOURAGE sedentary, pro-mask locals (who want to learn about Discord) to show up @ Gateway Discovery Park @ 5:30pm. HOW IS THIS RIDE DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS MASKFIRST RIDES? 1. **Flexible length/intensity** Once we roll over to Gateway Greens Park, you can select which trail feels best matched for your skills, desires, & equipment. Want to go hard and fast to catch air? Go for it. Unsure? They have lots of jumps where you can FAFO. Prefer to stay more grounded and on something paved? Sounds great! The multi-use bike path runs parallel to the other trails. This masked group ride is designed to serve BOTH extreme and mellow thrill seekers. [The bike park itself is NOT ideal for skates, boards, or roller blades. A paved path runs alongside it.] 2. **Discord Server Chat** Will ride co-leads have all the answers? nope! We'll have a few experienced Discord users come to help out us novices, amateurs, and noobs. There's no obligation to join any specific servers, although the free lessons are easier to apply and embody with practice. Let's see if we can reduce the frustration that accompanies adapting to new systems. 3. **Covid-Conscious Gathering:** Your safety is our top priority (jk. This isn't new, it's OUR STANDARD). As pro-mask cyclists, we value the safety of all participants as well as the residents we ride past. We encourage folks to be vaccinated (whenever possible), test frequently, stay spread out to distances that feel safe for everyone, and PLEASE be masked when you arrive. Thank you! 4. **Family-Friendly and Inclusive:** "Gateway Connections" is an inclusive event, welcoming participants of all genders, orientations, ages, and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a first-time rider, we invite you to join us in this celebration of camaraderie and playfulness. (All minors must have a legal guardian present. Only adults allowed in the MaskFirst discord server.) So, mark your calendars, invite your friends and family, and let's pedal, play, and laugh together on SEPTEMBER 16TH!

This ride is being postponed to a later date. Poor Moses broke his heel!
Amy + Moses, with NakedHearts:PDX
Sun, Aug 20, 2023, 6:30 PM
Meet at 6:30, ride at 7pm,
Ride is a loop
Postponed!! this ride will happen in about 7 weeks when Moses' heel is healed! This community ride is in celebration of love changing shape, divorce, friendship, new beginnings and redefining success! It is also in support of those who have experienced a separation of family and felt stigmatized, shame, a lack of support from their communities, or who weren't able to receive meaningful closure. Let this ride be in celebration of your resiliency! After nearly 11 years of marriage, we (Moses and Amy) are deeming our marriage Mission Complete, and what better way to celebrate our divorce and enduring friendship than with a bike ride? We feel very lucky to be surrounded in love, and we also understand that this kind of support is unfortunately not available to everyone. During the ride, we will be laser-beaming love through space and time to all divorces and painful separations of any kind - past, present and future! Let this ride be a celebration of self-love, transformative experiences, learning new things, making tough choices, and the tender gift of grief as proof of the heart's capacity to love so deeply. P.S. We acknowledge that anger, frustration and heavy feelings are a natural part of divorce. That being said, this ride is not "a rage against your ex" ride (although we understand that could be a cathartic ride concept!) If you have angsty feelings you'd like to get out, we suggest that you plan a ride-to-the ride, where you can smash stuff and scream before arriving at this Divorce Ride! This ride is not a trash your ex ride. Meeting at 6:30 p.m, rolling at 7pm. Socially paced, possibly with a store stop. We will go to a park or two to have some fun, so feel free to bring a frisbee, jump rope, etc. Details TBD! Thank you to our NakedHearts:PDX community for supporting this ride and providing the speaker for our playlist. We appreciate you!

It’s too Smokey today. Rescheduled to next Sunday.
NakedHearts:PDX (Moorland pretends to be English instead of being from NZ)
Sun, Aug 20, 2023, 7:00 PM
Leave as on time for 7:30 as British rail.
Ride is a loop
Those teeth aren’t made in Scotland from Girders…. If it’s too Jammie how can you dodge it…. Don’t get talking and hob nobbing too much….. More tea Vicar and nice weather for ducks but you chavs stay home…. Give me an egg sarnie with bits and some picalliy….. Does any of that make sense to you? Well if it does congratulations on living in America the land of the free…..to pay for Health care. It’s the British/English/UK ride. What can you expect? Biscuits…. Plus a complete disregard for talking about the differences in a common language. English people….yes even though it’s not quite mid day and the mad dogs might be sleeping, English people may be there. Also, chocolate….not the dark delicious kind that heals the heart, but Cadburys. Actual Cadburys….made in England (but not by skin heads). More references than make sense…. Probably some Boddingtons the cream of Manchester and English beer… We will ask for donations to help cover costs, only because all of this stuff adds up financially and we host too many rides for it come out of our pockets….we’d be more generous but we grew up in a matchbox in the middle of the street in a puddle. Music? Oh yes…. There will be PUNK and new wave and cheesy pop and who knows but it’ll all be English and maybe we can settle the arguments on The Beatles vs The Stones and Blur vs Oasis…..but we’ve not got time for that NME type convo so let’s just acknowledge it’s The Beatles and Blur and move on. But just to prove a point there might be an activity around this. Route: Streets….bikes….wheels….Portland…. You know the scene… Moorland leads so there’s no way there will be Car Park adventures. What else? Consent and Non-violence. Don’t touch people or their property without permission. Don’t be aggro to cars because you put the ride at risk and rides in the future. Act with kindness because it’s good for your heart. Show up as you are.

Ride is a loop

Ride is a loop
End location: Fifty Licks on Clinton (or Salt and Straw or Eb & Bean, all are close by), then loop back east.
Sorry kids, summer is almost over. But you know what's back? Your local Bike Bus, that's what! Let's celebrate the start of the school year, and Bike Buses, with a ride to get some ice cream! Ride is open to all, whether your school has a bike bus or not, and whether you take part or not. We're here to celebrate kids, bikes, and a healthier, safer, sustainable, and way more FUN model for urban transport. We can also cover the cost of dessert if you need. This is a nice kid-paced ride down and back up the gentle slopes of Southeast Portland, so should be doable for kids of all ages. We'll be traveling along Lincoln, and then mostly Clinton, since it's relatively flat. We'll stop at meet-up points along the way, just like a Bike Bus. A map with times will be available the day before the ride (Sunday morning) so you can join en route. There will be a chance to win prizes at our 'bus stops' along the way! Please share with your school friends, sports teammates, anyone in the area who is interested in biking more for transportation! Bring your bubble machines and speakers. NOTE: The ride there/west is extremely easy (slight downhill), but the ride back/east involves a significant uphill around 52nd. It's no problem if you or your kid can't make it- we'll walk bikes as needed, or parents with cargo bikes can gives kids a lift up. We won't let the hills stop us! Schedule (times are approximate, we may arrive late but will never leave early): 6:15: Depart Western Seminary 6:19: Arrive Lincoln/58th 6:24: Depart 6:35: Arrive Clinton/41st 6:40: Depart 6:55: Arrive Ladd's Circle 7:00: Depart 7:10: Arrive 50 Licks

What can you expect? Relaxing ethereal music that feels empowering and calming ……Music that softens the stress and angst of life and lights warmth in the attitudes of love and self care and the care of others. Also, we’re going to rock out to some Tina Turner and get our feet moving. Tina Turner has been chanting Buddhist mantras since the mid 1970’s! We will also hear her rocking out. I found this music when a freind of mine recommended Dechen-Shak-Dagsay as music to listen too while in an Airport. It transformed the experience for me. Then I discovered the work she’s been doing with Tina Turner. It blew my mind….. If you’ve been on any rides I’ve lead since November 2022, chances are you’ve heard this music at some time. Oh and see the insta link below for a snippet of Tina Turner from one of these albums….she also chants and harmonizes. This will be a serene adventure….
