Bike Happy Hour

Join Nomad Cycles and the e-bike community on our monthly East side e-bike ride! Come with a full battery to ride with the ease only an electric bike can offer. This month's ride will be ending at the the White Owl Social Club to join Tabor Dance Party. We start gathering at 6 at the outdoor seating of Paqui, which is on NE 59th around the corner from Nomad. We'll hit the road at 6:30, meandering around interesting city terrain, with an opportunity or two to climb hills effortlessly and potentially open that throttle if you so desire. This is a consistent monthly ride held on every third Wednesday of the month. Frequently Woman led and all are welcome, this is an inclusive ride that is treated as a safe space.

Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Find your bike Every Friday Night. We meet at Ladds circle, in the circle. If it is raining, head down to the covered area of Abernethy Elementary School. Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Be careful of slippery roads/leafs on ground/pot holes. Call out road hazards to help bike friends stay safe. 1st Friday is bottle share night. (bottle of wine/crazy beer/kombucha/coconut water/fizzy waters/anything you like to drink/want to share) 2nd Fridays are MMR - later night vibes to make it to Midnight Mystery Ride. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). Join us for a slow-paced, all-abilities bike ride from Northwest through The Pearl to the PSU Farmers Market. The ride will end a couple blocks away from the hangout location at Fariborz Maseeh Hall at SW Broadway and Harrison. There is an optional Strong Towns PDX meetup at Cafe Yumm at 11:30 after this ride. This is an urban ride that will take us on bike lanes and in car traffic lanes. Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

We ride bikes in Southeast Portland. We start at Foster food carts, if you can support the food carts and bar before we head out on the bike ride we meet up at 7:00 and We ride out at 8pm. We have guests ride leaders often. Please come prepared. Bring your lights maybe a spare tube patch kit tools to do such. Don't litter they are homeless not your can butler's.
