Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

We ride bikes in Southeast Portland. We start at Foster food carts, if you can support the food carts and bar before we head out on the bike ride we meet up at 7:00 and We ride out at 8pm. We have guests ride leaders often. Please come prepared. Bring your lights maybe a spare tube patch kit tools to do such. Don't litter they are homeless not your can butler's. Bike Happy Hour

Mayor Wilson returns to Bike Happy Hour for a live, raw, unfiltered interview with BikePortland's Jonathan Maus. Mayor Wilson credits Bike Happy Hour for launching his campaign when he showed up on a cold February evening in 2024 to share his vision for our city to several dozen of us in the upstairs event space of Gorges Beer Co. Now, comfortably ensconced in the mayor's office, he wanted to come back to rub shoulders with Portland's coolest, most engaged, and most well-informed group of people: Bike Happy Hour attendees. He'll sit for an interview in the Rainbow Road Plaza on SE Ankeny Street and answer all my burning questions — and a few from the audience! Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Casual ride to art galleries for the First Friday Art Walk. First Friday Art Walk is a monthly tradition where art galleries stay open late, bring in artists, have free food, and have hands-on arts projects. http://firstfridaypdx.org/ Biking is the best way to get around to these wonderful galleries, as they're spread around inner SE/NE. We get to 5-8 galleries, depending on how long our group spends in each gallery. We don't know exact routes and galleries, because we decide in the moment. We'll stay out until ~9:30pm, then see if folks are up for a group dinner afterwards. Join for as many galleries as you like, and leave when you wish. If you have a sound system bring it! I love music on group bike rides. Ride details: 5-15 minutes of biking between galleries. Our ride is perfect for new cyclists and families with kids. We'll go at a slow pace so folks can socialize, and everyone can keep up. We'll use small neighborhood streets with minimal cars.

Find your bike Every Friday Night. We meet at Ladds circle, in the circle. If it is raining, head down to the covered area of Abernethy Elementary School. Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Look, I know you don’t regularly dress up but it’s the 30 year anniversary of this classic joint, you ain’t got no job, and you ain’t got sh!t to do! Join @djgregoryt, @lovergirl.pdx @iamlcmiller and me for this special bike and skate collaboration Friday theme party. Dress up as your favorite Friday movie universe character (Felicia, Pinky, Dada, any of the trilogy movies) and party with us while we play classic Westcoast Hip-Hop, Funk and R&B. You have the option of skating with DJ Gregory T for this unique installment of Music and Friends directly at Boise Elementary. Or cruise your way down with me on bikes at Peninsula Park also starting at 7pm and merge with the party at Boise-Eliot Elementary close to 8pm. While this event is set to be a good time, it’s our responsibility to keep each other safe. Let’s be conscious about drinking or smoking if you do choose to indulge; you need to be in good shape to make it back to your crib. We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Bring your cargo bikes, trailers, your crates, your bungee cords, your baskets, and your amazing muscles - Anika finally found a great home and needs to move stuff out of her storage unit into her awesome new house in Brooklyn! Storage and the house are only like 5min apart... But more than one trip might be necessary. If you are a heavyweight champion, be prepared to move some furniture. If you like a move but only have a rack, there are so many little book boxes and you are the hero they're waiting for. Then, we eat homemade tacos and drink kombucha at the housewarming party! Bless our new house with us! Maybe do a ritualistic loop around the block dinging our bells and burning incense! We'll make something up! For fun, a Springwater trail/Brooklyn exploration ride will follow, or merging with another bike ride - we'll decide what we want to get up to.

Books, flyers, zines and art are a HUGE part of revolutionary movements. If you've been itching to make some of your own protest posters, print some zines, or find a great book about Palestine, then we've got a bike ride for you! Come along as we take a tour of pro-Palestine art/literary spaces, and go home with some cool prints and new knowledge. We'll be leaving from Laurelhurst at 4, and we recommend getting to the park an hour early so you have a chance to check out all the cool stuff happening at "Gays Eating the Rich in the Park" before we go. If you're running late for our leave time, meet us at our first stop instead. First stop: The Independent Publishing Resource Center! Come for a tour of the space, learn what things you can make here, and grab a zine or print. Second stop: Outlet! You've probably seen some gorgeous protest posters that have been printed at Outlet floating around town, so here's your chance to learn a little about risograph printing and take home a fun print. Third stop: Always Here Bookstore! Best selling author Lydia Kiesling will join us at this stop for a reading and conversation. All three places we stop at are listed on Portland to Palestine (portlandtopalestine.com), a directory of local businesses that stand against genocide and apartheid. We will ride at an easy pace with fun music, and we always make an effort to not leave anyone behind. The print materials that we send folks home with on this ride all relate to the Global Movement to Gaza flotilla, which seeks to break the siege of Gaza and bring aid to starving Palestinians. We will cruise under the glow of the Corn Moon! We'll meet up for a chill, cosmic-themed group bike ride ending at Cully Park for some laid-back stargazing and UFOs. Come decked out in your best space-inspired gear or anything weird truly -- even corn costumes work -- think stars, moons, aliens, and glitter, anything that you consider out of this world and get ready to vibe out under the full moon and enjoy some star gazing. At Salmon Street Springs there will be a rally and a short march (bikes are encouraged to jump in and help cork) which will take us to a venue where we will do a livestream with crew members on the Flotilla. The Sumud Flotilla is an incredible historic event and we're beyond grateful for the crew members who are willing to wake up in the middle of the night (9 hour time difference) and livestream to us here in Portland. You don't wanna miss it!

Did you know that on the night of the full moon, sunset is usually right before the moon rise? Let's hit up a spot where we can watch both! Stock up on snacks and libations before meeting up, then depart on a chill, slow-ish paced 5-mile (give or take) ride to our mystery destination. Ride not a loop. Lights, layers, and a picnic blanket are good ideas. Extra credit if you bring a telescope or good binoculars to observe the moon. Please note: THERE IS NO STORE STOP. There are markets near the ride start, so go there beforehand. There should be open bathroom(s) at the end. Also: RIDE NOT A LOOP, we end where we stop. If you need help getting back to the start, let me know. Rest assured, we will still be in "civilization" where we end, with Tri-Met service nearby. And most importantly: THIS IS A GOOD CONDITIONS RIDE. Clouds, rain, smoke, and excessive heat may cancel the ride. Check the Shift calendar on the day of ride for confirmation. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Yellow is obviously the best color, and that's not just my opinion! 💛IT'S OBJECTIVELY TRUE💛 Yellow bikes *ONLY*, and wear something that's yellow if you can! We're gonna wander around Inner-SE to spot every yellow building and object we can. Think bird watching on wheels... but for yellow stuff. We'll have a party-pace, with 1 store stop to get yellow snacks. Commute with the City Bike Bus every second Wednesday of the month through October! Hop on your bicycle and join one of nine unique bike bus routes coming from all over the city into downtown. At the end of the ride, we’ll all gather at Salmon Street Springs for coffee and treats. A bike bus is a group of students—but in this case, adults—biking to school—but in this case, downtown—together. Bike buses have been around for decades, but they have become increasingly popular in recent years. Each bike bus will depart from their start location at a different time and arrive at Salmon Street Springs at 8:15 a.m.
