All Riders, All Wheels, All Welcome. The who and what ride? Theme: There’s a style of music I (Moorland) love and it’s the early synthesizer music that was so predominant in movies of the late 70’s and early 80’s. I first discovered this watching John Carpenter movies and George A Romero (and other Zombie) movies I could rent them for a pound from the video store because they were old and I wanted to watch movies while babysitting and a pound a pop meant I could get 3 movies instead of one newer movie… and I’ve been obsessed since. This ride will have a cinematic score from John Carpenter movies, with dialogue interspersed throughout, such as more famous snippets like, ‘Snake Plisskin! I heard you were dead!’ And ‘I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass and I’m all outta bubblegum’…(The ‘Obey’ brand is based on that movie) …..As well as some other anti authoritarian and strange dialogue bits. The route: It will take us into industrial spaces and locations reminiscent of ‘Escape from New York’….’Assault on precinct 13’ and others, that add to the cinematic drama and soundscape of this ride. We will have a large store stop for safe access to bathrooms. Safety: This is a NakedHearts:PDX ride where we practice consent and non-violence. These rides are intended as safe spaces verging on brave spaces. The comfort and safety of one is the comfort and safety of us all. We foster a community of mutual acceptance and regard. If you’re banned you’re banned here too. Belonging: This is your community, you belong here, you belong to yourself, it’s your ride come as you are
