- BIKE TO THE MOVIES: VANCOUVER!
-
7:30pmUptown Village, Vancouver has been hosting outdoor movies for a little while now. It's about time we took advantage and biked there! This time, it's (wait for it...) "Muppets Take Manhattan"! If you're commuting (or intrepid!), let's meet up at Esther Short Park before 7:00. If you'd like to head there from your own neck of the woods, email me in advance and I think we can arrange a "bike bus" group ride to round local people up and roll in as one or two groups. We'll have time to stop for snacks, hang out, and get to meet some of your local bike crowd. Movie starts at 8:45.

- RIDE TO RECYCLE (BATTERIES)
-
5:30pmLike me, do your old batteries-like those non-rechargeables that come with Planet Bike lights-accumulate in a bowl when they're dead? "Someday" you shall take them to a recycler like Metro, but never get around to it? Shudder imagining batteries in the landfill leaching into the groundwater?
Bring your dead batteries to work on Monday, then let's take a short'n'sweet ride to NE Broadway to a recycler that's open till 7pm. Household, rechargeables, and lead acid batteries OK.
If so inclined, we can sojourn to a nearby bar afterwards to enjoy a self-congratulatory short'n'sweet tipple
