FIXIE FRIENDLY COUNCIL CREST Link
Tilikum Crossing, SE Tilikum Way, Portland, OR Take Trimet (Meet on the Eastbank Esplanade directly underneath the Tilikum Crossing by the "Sonic Dish")
11:00am
A bike ride up to Portlands highest viewpoint to take in the emerging Autumn colors. The route follows the least-steep way to get there with the grade always staying below 10%, so its rideable with some effort even on fixed-gear and single-speed bicycles (all bike types welcome). The ride follows a street that dead-ends near a pedestrian cut-through, so auto traffic is quite light along this route. Note that the pedestrian cut-through has some stairs, but help will be at hand for anyone riding a bike too big for one person to carry. The ride also visits the massive Stonehenge Tower and the OHSU double-decker overlook. Once back down, you have the option to ride along to the Handmade Bike and Beer Festival using new bike infrastructure.

VALLEYCAT - BREVET MEETS ALLEYCAT + FUNDRAISER Link
SE Park Ave MAX Station - Orange Line, 2735 SE Park Avenue Take Trimet
8:00am
Last month one of Portland's raddest bike homies was hit by an uninsured motorist and what choice do we have but to throw an event in her honor? Coincidentally I've been planning to host an event called Valleycat for a long time and likewise so has fellow endurance wackjob Mike Hall off in the UK. So in tandem we're both hosting fundraising "Valleycat" rides. Here in Oregon we'll be heading south into the lush Willamette Valley. This is a noncompetitive event, no prizes, only fun, maybe some bragging rights, and a whole lot of BYOB.
What I'm promising and what you can expect.
1. All proceeds go to Val*
5. 25 bucks fool, pitch in and make things suck less for Val cuz she's the bomb!

Josh's Short and Spooky Bike Move
Sat. Oct 31, 11am leaving from 44 and NE Going, headed to 35 and Alberta.  Exactly 1 (flat) mile. Costumes encouraged.   I have a lot of books, etc: dense heavy boxes, and not a ton of Bound bamboo trailer-worthy furniture and bike parts.  If you like hauling a lot of heavy stuff a short distance, this is the move for you. We could use all the help we can get.  Will have all the usual sweets and savories, uppers and downers, vegan and GF.  We will burn things at the end.   Costumes still encouraged.  An RSVP on facebook or email would be appreciated so I have a vague idea of how much food to get. Thanks! Josh G: guttmjo at-signededed gmail
