Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). We will make every effort to note weather-related closures here promptly.

This ride will be a relatively short, casual paced ride for families looking to get out and spend some time with their kids using pedal power! The goal is to get more families into riding bicycles instead of driving everywhere, and showing families safe neighbourhood spots and paths in Washington County! The party will kick off at Cedar Park Middle School in Cedar Hills at 10am, and the closest MAX stop is at Sunset TC, about 1 mile north. We will depart at 11am and ride en masse to Cedar Hills Park's Splash Pad (bring water play clothes) The closest transit at the end is also at Beaverton TC, about a mile south. The ride will be about 1 mile in a relatively flat neighbourhood, on quiet neighbourhood streets. All people and all wheels are welcome! Please be respectful of any children who come along, as the last thing we want to do is discourage them from cycling.

Ride naked! Celebrate the 234th birthday of Bill of Rights! Freedom of speech, freedom of expression, the right to assemble peaceably to seek redress of grievances. Bring signs and body paint if you have them. Request no camera use by ride participants. We'll stop at ODOT and PBOT offices for some pro-bike lane maintenance chants! If it's hot we'll stop at a secluded swimming hole at the river. Notes: If the weather forecast is for steady rain or other unpleasant weather for nakedness, we may cancel the ride. Cancellations will be posted by 11:59 pm the night before the night before the ride. Get your gluten AND your glutes on! A morning tour of some of Portland's best sourdough bread bakeries. We'll meet in the miasma under the Franz bread sign to get in the mood, then ride through SE Portland and NE Portland ending at the King Farmer’s Market for a picnic on the lawn. I'll get a loaf from each bakery, but please bring some $$ to support the bakers and/or contribute bread or spread to share! Extra points if you baked it yourself. The ride is not a loop, under ten miles for the whole shebang. No-drop, social pace, but we'll limit stops to 20 min (so maybe don't order a complicated sandwich). If you want to stay longer (maybe you really want that complicated sandwich) you can catch up at the next bakery. Promote community inclusion and connection for every level of ability with ALSO's beginner-friendly, no-drop group bike ride. This is a great opportunity to break out your bike and have a fun, safe experience on the car-free route that PBOT’s Sunday Parkways has cleared for everyone with a group of like-minded folks who care about disability justice. We’ll be biking on the section from Parklane Park to Lincoln City Park and back again, around 3 miles round trip. We will take a break at Lincoln City Park, but may take more breaks if people need them. When we return to Parklane Park, we will have a small, snacky picnic for anyone who wants to keep hanging out! If you need an adaptive bike in order to participate, Adaptive Sports NW will be at Parklane Park to let people borrow their bikes. If you plan on this option, please bring your own helmet and arrive at 11 AM to have time to test out their bikes and sign their waiver.

This is the 5th annual 26" or DIE! A ride made for you and your 26" mountain bike! Meet at 12pm. I’ll provide pizza to kick things off (while supplies last!) Once food is gone..We will then roll out to do the NoPo Cutty route. This route is 30ish miles, fairly flat, and involves some off the beaten path trail riding! Do you like zines? Of course you do, Portland loves zines. Whether you make 'em, or read 'em, or just like to look at them this ride is for you. Bring some zines of your own creation, or just a few you're willing to part with and trade and then go for a ride, stopping at a few locations that have fostered the zine community (there's a lot so I'm just choosing a few). The idea is to trade, but if you're inclined to sell them (after all, time, effort, and work go into these) that's OK too. We will start with a meet up at Laurelhurst Park at the picnic area on the North side of the park (closer to SE Ankeny St) to do the trade/swap/what-have-you at 12:00pm and then depart around 1:00pm to ride out to the Microcosm store, Secret Room, and conclude with a tour of Portland's zine mecca: the Independent Publishing Resource Center (or IPRC for short). This will be the release of Hex zine #3 as well, a more music-based zine, as well as the accompanying free side-zine, Portland Is a Bike Gang (a free comic zine, which will only be for this ride!) Safety tip: don't read zines while you ride. There will be time for that after the ride.

We all vote on the best inconsequential stance and it wins an inconsequential prize. Come enjoy the sweetness of summer at an acoustic concert at Grasslands Farm, located in inner NE Portland. A family-paced ride from Wilshire park will leisurely roll to the farm, where musicians will be taking the stage for our listening pleasure. Feel free to put down a blanket and enjoy a picnic and libations. Invite your friends, make new friends, bring a date! We will have some scheduled performances, and afterwards there will be a (no-mic) open mic. Feel free to lead a song, or perform a music or spoken word piece. All ages and experience levels welcome! 90s dance and pirate radio rave anthems from across the pond: KLF, EMF, Utah Saints, 808 State, The Prodigy, The Shamen, Underworld, K-Klass... Ride to park dance spot. Meet at 7, ride at 7.30, bike for a bit, then we park disco to 10.30pm. We ride for a bit listening to 90s dance and pirate radio rave anthems but then at our first and final stop we'll get the euphoric beats going and your body moving. This is more dance than ride. No store stop, bring your own supplies. Dress as a saint from Utah, or a prodigy, or a shaman. This ride takes us back to times before internet takeover and social media puffed up egos, drained souls and wiped out humor. Simpler, better times. Those that were there were lucky to be there, and those who weren't, can be there now on this ride. This is not a ride for those who take themselves seriously. If you haven't done a Park Disco before, you haven't lived.

Everyone loves Bike Happy Hours! That's why we're bringing another one to Northern Washington County from 1630-1900! Happy Hour is NOT a ride in itself, but there will be a ride immediately after, at 1900! A good way to meet new cycling friends in the Westside and beyond, or keep in touch with old friends! Everyone is welcome to join along, maybe grab a drink, eat some good food, or just show your presence. The post-Happy Hour ride will be a casual paced 10-20 mile ride around Northern Washington County I'm going to be demoing this over the Summer on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th (if applicable) Mondays of June, July, and August, and if we like it, I'll keep it going!

Vibrant Mission

A monthly social bicycle pilgrimage through the glowing corners of the city. We’ll ride together between gathering places, hidden patios, strange landmarks, and friendly neighborhood spots while chasing the mysterious forces that connect us all. Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Sometime in the middle 19th century, stone mile markers were placed along the length of what became SE Stark St. From the Willamette to the Sandy River, these milestones helped travellers navigate what was once a "wild" area. Over the years these markers were largely forgotten, yet miraculously over half still remain! We'll take a leisurely bike tour to see the markers that still remain from MP2 to MP7. Ride is not a loop but will end near the SE 122nd MAX Station on the Blue Line. After the ride ends there will be an option for interested folks to get food and libations. Cornell Will Be Swell! WWR takes on Cornell! This is a fantastic route that gets steep real quick in the west hills, climbing 1400' over 5-6 miles. The grade goes up to 15%, but is never sustained, we will regroup after each steep section. Why bother? A killer hill bomb down Thompson and Cornell into Portland with a couple tunnels thrown in to boot. Ride will end at Wallace Park in NW! Total distance is ~13 miles and there is a spot to refill water along the way. Bring lights and legs!

These rides are a space for those that would like to participate in group rides, but may have sensory challenges that can make it hard to participate, or those that just prefer this type of environment. Led by neurodivergent folx, rides include a slow pace (6-8mph), lower traffic routes on neighborhood greenways, quieter or no music, and conduct expectations around creating a more relaxed and sensory friendly experience. They will be held periodically throughout the summer on Thursdays. Start locations will cycle around certain parks, and the route from each start location will be consistent. Routes will be posted on the @ridesafepdx Instagram account before the ride. These will be no-drop rides, bathroom access, and always have the option to pause the ride if anyone has needs. ---- Expectations: Consent is required at all times. Ask before touching people or their property. Keep the environment positive, and be cognizant if your behavior makes, or may make others uncomfortable. Please tell a ride leader if someone causes stress. We will alternate between music and no music. If we do have music, it will always be softer music at a lower volume. No music/speakers at all outside of the ride leader. Keep talking volume levels lower and consistent, and avoid sudden noises. Bell ringing should be reserved for alerting to issues (we can talk/wave to people we pass), and don't use electronic sounds. We will still use verbal bike safety cues. Be cognizant of scents and no smoking or vaping at all while riding (even in the back), or in noticeable proximity to the group at the start or on stops. Please no alcohol consumption during the ride. Be conscious of others and give as much space as possible. Always stay behind the ride leader. No racing, tricks, swerving, weaving in/out of the group, etc. Keep bike lights solid on lowest brightness, or off. No bright or flashing lights. People can be as social as they choose to be, or not at all. We will have wrist bands for those that wish to not be approached by others. Let's go explore two of my favourite parks that are kind of a PITA to access via transit! We'll start at Orenco MAX station, use the Paula Jean Powerline Trail, explore some NEW cycling infrastructure in South Hillsboro, and cut through Alohaland until we find ourselves at Jenkins Estate. Then, we'll travel a little bit west and stop by Cooper Mountain Nature Park. We'll have to dismount for each park, as they generally do not permit bikes on the paths, but we will explore around each. There is also about an 800ft incline to Cooper Mountain (it's a mountain after all), so I'm going to say keep the kids at home this time.

Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. We roll from and return to Columbia Park (meet in front of the pool) for an hour-ish ramble through North Portland and beyond. No agenda beyond riding bikes with good people on a summer evening. Expect roughly 10 miles at a conversation-friendly pace (~10 mph). We usually stop briefly along the way for snacks, stretching, admiring a weird tree, taking in a panoramic view, or whatever else seems important at the time. This is a no-drop ride. Casual ride to art galleries for the First Friday Art Walk. First Friday Art Walk is a monthly tradition where inner SE art galleries stay open late, bring in artists, have free food, and have hands-on arts projects. http://firstfridaypdx.org/ Biking is the best way to get around to these galleries. We get to 5-8 galleries, depending on how long our group spends in each gallery. We don't know exact routes and galleries, because we decide in the moment. We'll stay out until ~9:30pm, then see if folks are up for a group dinner afterwards. Join for as many galleries as you like, and leave when you wish. If you have a sound system bring it! I love music on group rides. Ride details: 5-15 minutes of biking between galleries. Our ride is perfect for new cyclists and families with kids. We'll go at a slow pace so folks can socialize, and everyone can keep up. We use small neighborhood streets with minimal cars. The ride ends at a different location from the start. If you need help biking home afterwards or getting to your car, chat with the ride leader.

Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. It's the 50th anniversary of one of my favorite movies! We'll ride around town in our very best workout clothes. Ride ends with a screening of ROCKY (1976)

Have you never heard an Outdoor Warning/Tornado/Air Raid Siren in your life? Or maybe you used to live in the Midwest and miss the electromechanical harmony they produce! Well this ride will take us to Gaston, located in beautiful rural Washington County, about a 13 mile ride, with not too much climbing from downtown Hillsboro. They happen to have an electromechanical siren (one that actually has moving parts, not a giant speaker) that they restored a couple years back, and they test it every first Saturday at noon! It is a Federal Signal 3T22, one of the most iconic American sirens ever made. This ride is an OUT AND BACK format, meaning we will be starting at Hillsboro Civic Centre, heading to Gaston, and then heading back to HCC via the same way, which is about 26 miles round trip. We will try our best not to drop on this ride, however we cannot delay too much, as the siren sounds sharply at noon, and there is only finite buffer time. Also, there is NO RELIABLE BUS OR MAX SERVICE AFTER LEAVING HILLSBORO. This means that if you are riding an EBike, to make sure you have enough range, and for anyone that your bike is in good condition, and that you have enough water and snacks, so that you do not need to be "rescued" home. We will make some stops along the way to carb up, hydrate, and enjoy the view! I do not recommend children, as the overall length is quite long, however if you would like to bring children in the Westside, consider looking at my Kidical Mass rides.

Join us for the Biggest Kids Bike Parade this Side of the Mississippi!! This is an all ages bike parade that starts at Rose City Park Methodist Church (58th and NE Alameda) and ends at Rose City Park Elementary School (~1.5 miles). It's a slow pace--scooters and glide bikes welcome--and ends with a popsicle party at the elementary school. We gather in front of the church at 9:45am and depart at 10am. Ride ends by 10:45am and you can stay at the party as long as you like. It's a great way to kick off July 4th celebrations. Come one, come all!

Hey Pedalpalooza! Oasis PDX is coming in HOT this 4th of July with a huge collaborative ride hosted by The Party Scientist! IG @partyscientiestjoy. He is well known in Canada for hosting workshops and mass public party events, inspiring people to take social risks and find greater joy and connection in their lives. He is leading a global movement of Joymaking - the art of spreading Joy. What does that mean? You'll have to come to find out ;) This will be a very highly produced, LOUD, musically energetic ride with multiple linked sound systems and will likely attract some of our favorite pedalpalooza hype veterans. This ride is inspired by the new song “Son of Jolene” by Belles and Dolly Parton. It’s also inspired by who Dolly is and what she has done for the world. We won’t be playing covers of Jolene all night, we’re gonna go ALL THE WAY BACK to Hello, I’m Dolly and move through the years. We’ll hear songs she wrote but was made a hit by someone else, like Skeeter Davis or Whitney Houston. Even songs she loaned her voice to, like Sabrina Carpenters “please please please” and yes, even Beyoncés Jolene cover. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has provided books to children for free in at least FIVE countries! We will be visiting a few Little Free Libraries and I’d like to encourage you to bring books to donate! I’ll be bringing along a handful of kids books myself, including copies of my most favourite book, The Phantom Tollbooth. Ending the evening with fireworks feels like a chefs kiss for celebrating a woman who has done so much for so many. Stay tuned, this could become a series!

FITNESS MEETS FUN ON THIS 20 MILE LOOP AROUND PORTLAND RIDE! Expect a ride with mostly *optional* hills if you want to bring the razzle dazzle! We'll start at Oregon park and ride across the Hawthorne bridge, then up Marquam Hill for a little burn! After that, it's a FAST downhill and a flat cruise to one of the best little islands in the area! Loop ride back into SE Portland and end up at a favorite Gluten-Free Brewery for a celebratory drink!

For the Bicentennial in 1976 a 4,200 mile bike route was created going from the Oregon coast to Yorktown, Virginia. During that summer thousands of cyclists rode across the country, some going east others going west. Bike Inns were established across the country so riders were seldom more than 30 miles from accommodations in campgrounds, schools, fire stations, churches, and other venues. Guide books and detailed maps were published covering the entire route. The Bikecentennial route continues to be used to the present day and is now called the Trans America Bicycle Trail or TransAm. Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) evolved from the 40-person staff in 1976, and continues to publish maps for this route and many others. For the 50th anniversary they are promoting group rides covering the entire route, as well as shorter rides on sections of the trail. The TransAm goes across central Oregon, so for this Bike Summer ride we are riding a portion of another ACA route - The Lewis & Clark Bicycle Trail. This 3,131 mile route goes from Illinois to the Oregon coast, passing through Portland along the way. This year is also the 50th anniversary of Trek Bicycle Corporation, which had its humble beginning in a red barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin. So our ride starts at the Trek Slabtown store, where they are kindly offering us donuts before the ride. This store is not far from where the Lewis & Clark Trail resumes its trek to the Oregon Coast. The ride is a 5.5 mile loop returning to the Trek store. We stay in Northwest Portland passing by several bicycle-related venues along the way. Hope to see you there!

The Thorns host Racing Louisville for the Summer Block Party game. We'll lead a ride from Laurelhurst Park to the field via the Sports Bra. Departing Laurelhurst Park (Skate Park in SE corner) at 1:45 to depart at 2:00 for The Sports Bra for a pint, then depart at 3:00 to allow plenty of time to get to the game and parked before the ball drops. Come cheer on your Thorns with bike-minded individuals! The Thorns have something to prove after their road defeat in May. We'll pause mid-ride for a guided 30 minute Thai massage lesson. Bring a blanket, sheet, or yoga mat. Bring a friend or make one there. Outside the Lines is a community-centered ride for folks who identify "outside the lines" — those who don't always feel like they belong. Bring your whole self, whether that's silly and social, quiet and reflective, or somewhere in between. We practice consent, follow the Shift2Bikes Code of Conduct, ride at a social pace, and do our best to ensure no one gets left behind. Expect loop routes, good company, a mid-ride activity, and a stop with food, drinks, and clean restrooms. Presented by Ride Safe PDX. We’ll bike around to a few locations to look for geocaches placed for the ride. Caches will reveal the next stop on our journey, and some will include prizes. You don’t need to have experience geocaching to join. Everyone nice is welcome. Bring a phone with a map app. The cache coordinates will be provided throughout the ride.
