On November 5th, former VP and genocide enabler Kamala Harris will be in town to promote her new book, boast about her record and effectively start her next presidential campaign. This is the same Kamala Harris who shushed Palestinians speaking up for their people in a genocide VP Harris was helping craft; the same Harris who spoke of building “the most lethal military”; the same Kamala who has accepted millions of dollars in AIPAC money; the same Kamala who handed the presidency to Trump because she couldn’t draw the line at genocide. Join us on a ride to protest a system that deepens the struggles of people in the USA and sees lives abroad as collateral damage. When we allow any fascistic politician to go unchecked–whether Democrat or Republican–it paves the path for future Trumps. We hope to see you on your bikes, flying your Palestine flags, wearing your Keffiyehs. Bring your spirit of Resistance! Be ready to be loud and let Portland and the world know that we will never stop fighting for Collective Liberation! Free Palestine!

TNR #553: Moe <leaves at 7:40>
Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Nov 6, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements around 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements by 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Live Location: https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it’s safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Hey guys! now that we are in the rainy season we are gonna try for early in the month so if it rains, we have rescheduling options. Buuuut it looks like this friday will be good enough to play R-Type! This game is a right/left scroller where you move a spaceship through different levels to collect power-ups and weapons. It looks kind of basic but oddly enough it has been extremely popular across multiple consoles, computers, and arcade platforms. We have a Strava club now that we are cross promoting these rides at https://www.strava.com/clubs/1795622 BTW, If you havden't seen us post before, we like to bring a large format video projector to play video games on buildings bridges and other unusual places. Everyone gets to play and We have a genuine gold trophy for a "winner" (Mario3 was tough to pick one person bc it was so cooperative) and lot's of fun for every one else!

Maria the Bicycle Kitty
Sat, Nov 8, 2025, 10:00 AM
We roll at 10:10am
Ride is a loop
Ride length: 15+ miles
Ladies (trans ladies this means you too!) on regular bicycles are welcome to join our monthly ride. This ride is "no dudes, no e-bikes, no offense". I welcome e-bikes on the many other rides I organize, but they are not a good fit for this ride. If that makes you mad, please feel free to join one of the many rides on the Shift calendar (some of which welcome only e-bikes!). We always meet at the northern end of the trolley trail at SE 17th Avenue & SE St Andrews Drive, across from the Goodwill Bins and very close to the Springwater Trail - about a half mile from the Orange Line MAX (Johnson Creek/Tacoma stop). Some riders have trouble finding this for the first time, so you might consider studying the map before you head there. We're usually a small group of 4-6-8 riders. Our pace will be approximately 12-14mph, slower if it's super wet or on hillz. It's important to me to stay in front to set the pace, so please stay behind (or next to!) me. If even one rider goes off the front, it's contagious and soon we're dropping folks, which is the opposite of what our chill squad is about. Let's ride together as a group please. Our rest stops will be at parks with bathrooms and water spigots. We will not be stopping at any stores or cafes or restaurants, so be sure to bring enough snacks for yourself. It's also helpful if you can carry a small repair kit and spare tube (even if you are riding tubeless or don't know how to fix a flat). I've cooked up a new 23 mile route for us to try: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53012294 If that doesn't appeal, we can all choose together from one of our other regular routes: Happy Valley Industrial, 25 miles, 1000' gain, all paved Best on Sundays https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52585762 Salish Ponds, 27 miles, 500' gain, all paved except for gravel path into Salish Park Great for rainy days https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51303515 East to Binford Trail, 22 miles, 600' gain, all paved except for 1/2 mile path Springwater Trail to a gorgeous trail in the woods https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51201436 Aldercrest Classic, 20 miles, 800' gain, all paved The route that started it all! https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49133783 Hidden Falls, 30 miles, 1300' gain, all paved except path into Hidden Falls Pretty view of the falls https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48697900 West Riverside Loop, 23 miles, 1300' gain, less than 2 miles on wooded paths Not great for rainy days, starts with a climb https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44932165 Happy Valley Cutties, 17 miles, 600' gain, less than 2 miles on gravel paths Features some strange but fun nature cut throughs https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43720667 East to Boring, 35 miles, 700' gain, all paved Our longest ride, great for rainy days as we can easily cut it short https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42299988 Oregon City Viewpoints, 25 miles, 1200' gain, all paved Views and car-free Waterboard Park, not great for rainy days https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42176352

Sat, Nov 8, 2025, 1:00 PM
Meet 1:00pm, ride ~1:35pm
3:30 PM
End location: Last stop is near Peninsula Park
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Let's get on bikes and help feed our neighbors! Inspired by a similar ride in SE, after departing we'll make an early stop at Grocery Outlet in St Johns to stock up, then ride ~11 miles and visit 8-9 free pantry & fridge locations in North Portland, spanning from St Johns to Humboldt. PDX Free Fridge Map: https://sites.google.com/view/pdx-free-fridge The Plan: - Meet at Wonderwood Springs @1pm (they're helping neighbors out with free food during the SNAP lapse - let's show them some love!) - Head out to the bike racks on the corner @1:30pm - Depart ~1:35, stop at Grocery Outlet for shopping and loading up, then get back on the road around 2:00pm or so - From there we'll spend ~90 min navigating North Portland neighborhoods and unloading our goodies at free pantries and fridges along the way What to Bring: - Your bike and any carrying capacity you have - even if just a backpack (I have a cargo bike but hopefully we'll have more than I can carry!) - $20 or more for shopping, OR equivalent food (Things you'd like to eat if someone were helping you. Nothing opened or expired. Perishables are OK.) Plan is for this to be no-drop, moderate pace (~12-15mph). It's OK to break off along the way if you need to (or run out of food to pass out), just let someone know. Bonus Tip: the St Johns Farmers Market runs 9am-2pm at N Central & N Charleston, and is a great place to get lunch and fresh produce before the ride.

Corvidae BC
Sun, Nov 9, 2025, 1:00 PM
Meet at 1PM. Roll out at 2PM
Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. We aim to impress that this is a safe environment for all; no aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Please review our Corvidae Code of Conduct. Ride at 7:30
Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop
Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Meet at Bike Happy Hour, leave at 6:00PM
End location: Poet's Beach
Ride length: 3-8 miles
55 years ago, the Oregon highway department set off a bunch of dynamite under a dead whale. We're keeping that tradition alive every year by blowing up our own dead whale on Poet's Beach. Join us for a casual ride around inner Portland, and help us to bring Whaley Wanka to his final resting place. This year we'll assemble at Bike Happy Hour. We'll leave from from there at 6:00PM! We will have candy, and spoke cards! If you haven't heard of Oregon's exploding whale, then you are obligated to watch the old news story about it! https://youtu.be/V6CLumsir34?si=VJEkEcXD4aQRPYXE

TNR #554: 🎒 <leaves at 7:40>
Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Nov 13, 2025, 7:00 PM
