Shift Main Page Pedalpalooza Calendar Full-Screen Countdown

It's happening!

The Pedalpalooza Kickoff Dance Party and Portland's World Naked Bike Ride are happening on June 14. As usual, the ride will leave from the dance party at 11:59pm. The dance party starts at 9:00pm, and continues long into the night. The party doesn't end when the ride ends! When the ride loops back here, we'll have more beer, more music, and more dancing waiting for you.

The dance party will be at the Track 7 warehouse, at the corner of NW 30th and Industrial. That's right, for the first time ever we'll be partying on the West side. There are a lot of railroad tracks in the area; the best way to avoid them is by approaching on NW 27th, and then turning left onto Ward Way/Vaughn.

If you've never attended this event before, then you should read Your First Naked Ride.

Pedalpalooza Kickoff Dance Party

The dance party is sponsored by Shift.

This year the party's theme is "Masquerade" so start thinking about what kind of costume you want to wear, and how long you want to wear it. It takes some creativity to combine a costume and nudity.

This is a private party by cyclists, for cyclists. There is no cover charge but you must arrive by bike (or other human-powered vehicle such as a skateboard). Your bike is your ticket.

We will be selling good beer at a cheap price. No outside alcohol is allowed. You must be at least 18 years old to attend the party, and at least 21 years old to drink alcohol. Bring your ID!

Please don't bring cameras into the party. Cameras make some people uncomfortable, and we want everybody to enjoy the night. A few officially sanctioned camera crews may be working there that night, but they'll be operating under strict rules to protect party-goers' sense of privacy. (This is only for the party, not the ride. The ride takes place on public streets where anybody has a right to photograph you.)

Attend at your own risk. Although we will attempt to offer secure bike parking, and a secure place to store your clothes and other valueables, the final responsibility for protecting your property lies with you.

World Naked Bike Ride

The WNBR is not officially sponsored by Shift. Shift is promoting it, but Shift exists primarily to help other groups and individuals promote their events; this is no different. The WNBR is officially sponsored by Freaky Uppity Cycling Kids.

Ride at your own risk. This means we aren't responsible for theft, injury, law enforcement, or anything else.

The ride's dress code is officially "as bare as you dare". You don't have to be completely naked to ride with us.

Last year, Portland's naked ride had roughly 800 people, which put us in a tie with London for the world's largest. Portland's naked ride has been growing by at least 50% each year, so this year we expect 1200-1500 people. Invite your friends! Invite your coworkers! Invite your neighbors! Anybody on a bike is welcome. (To get into the party you must be 18+ years old, but since the ride takes place on public streets it is open to anybody.)

We have volunteers

It looks as though we've filled all of the known night-of-the-event volunteer positions. If you're a volunteer and have any questions, contact . Everybody else, enjoy the party and say "thank you" to...
