The Pedalpalooza Kickoff Dance Party and Portland's World Naked Bike Ride are happening on June 13. As usual, the ride will leave from the dance party at 11:59pm. The dance party starts at 9:00pm, and continues long into the night. The party doesn't end when the ride ends! When the ride loops back here, we'll have more beer, more music, and more dancing waiting for you.

This year's Pedalpalooza Kickoff Dance Party (the beginning and ending location of the World Naked Bike Ride) will be held at 2181 NW Nicolai (see the Map below). This incredible building, formerly known as the Coffee Bean International warehouse, will be converted into the Nicolai Business Center after the party. The owners will make the new space meet LEED Silver standards as an artist loft space!

The event is free. Bring cash for beer.

There are a lot of active railroad tracks in the area, as well as fast driving motorists, so do be very careful both in arriving and during the ride. Shoes must be worn at all times inside the building due to protruding wood and metal hazards to bare feet. Bare feet bad! Bare everything else okay!

The Pedalpalooza Kickoff Dance Party is organized by Shift and sponsored by Umbrella.

This year the party's theme is "Where the Wild Things Are" so start thinking about what sort of costume you want to wear, and how long you want to wear it. It takes some creativity to combine a costume and nudity.

This is a private party by cyclists, for cyclists. There is no cover charge but you must arrive by bike (or other human-powered vehicle such as a skateboard). Your bike is your ticket.

We will be selling good beer at a cheap price. No outside alcohol is allowed, either in the building or in the blocked-off area on the street. You must be at least 18 years old to attend the party, and at least 21 years old to drink alcohol. Bring your ID!

Please don't bring cameras into the party. Cameras make some people uncomfortable, and we want everybody to enjoy the night. (This is only for the party, not the ride. The ride takes place on public streets where anybody has a right to photograph you.) If you have a professional reason for wanting to bring a camera, contact for a press pass.

Attend at your own risk. Although we will attempt to offer secure bike parking, and a secure place to store your clothes and other valueables, the final responsibility for protecting your property lies with you.

Portland's WNBR is not officially sponsored by Shift or Umbrella. Shift is promoting it, but Shift exists primarily to help other groups and individuals promote their events; this is no different. The WNBR is officially organized by Freaky Uppity Cycling Kids.

The ride's dress code is officially "as bare as you dare". You don't have to be completely naked to ride with us.

Last year, Portland's naked ride had roughly 2000 people, which arguably made it the world's largest. Portland's naked ride has been growing by at least 50% each year, so this year we expect 3000 people. Invite your friends! Invite your coworkers! Invite your neighbors! Anybody on a bike is welcome. (To get into the party you must be 18+ years old, but since the ride takes place on public streets it is open to anybody.)
