RIDE TO WINTER WONDERLAND "BIKE THE LIGHTS" Link FF

Winter Wonderland Portland has one night each year where the huge holiday lights display surrounding Portland International Raceway is open to bicycles only. The 10th annual "Bike the Lights" is happening on November 27 this year, and this event page is for a 4-mile kid-friendly group bike ride to PIR. There will be an optional group ride back to the start point, and there is also a MAX station across the street from PIR to head South after riding "Bike the Lights." Admission is $6.00 at Portland International Raceway (children under 13 are free). We meet at Dawson Park right next to the bikeway at 2926 N Williams. Holiday-decorated bikes are welcome on this ride and at Winter Wonderland!

We usually make a half way stop,then we will make one supply stop at a store before the mystery end location. NOT A LOOP. Music, costumes and decorations encouraged.

9:00am - 1:00pm, Please arrive by 8:45am to check-in and be assigned to the bike crew.
Top up your tire pressure, find your winter riding gloves, gather you bike rack's bungees, and pedal on over to plant trees by bike with Friends of Trees!  We are ready with tools, gloves, guidance and a thoughtfully-planned bike planting route, as well as breakfast snacks and a warm potluck lunch after the planting provided for all volunteers by the hosting neighborhood groups!

Our bike routes range from 2-6 miles, with lots of stops to plant 10 trees in neighbors' yards and planting strips.

Yes, there is a downtown Fairview, and they are having their 12th annual Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 1 right next to city hall at the Fairview Community Park. The free event will have refreshments, holiday music and activities, and of course, Santa! The 11-mile ride out follows the Springwater and Gresham-Fairview trails with an optional ride back following different separated bike paths. This will be one of the last opportunities to visit the SE Portland location of The Belmont Goats, as they will soon be moving to North Portland, 15 miles away.
