RIDE #4: 82ND AVE Sacajawea Park to Flavel Park, brief pause at Powell WinCo - 7 miles, no loop. Our city is lacerated by multi-lane highways and stroads that are hostile to human life and subservient to mass automobility. These rides aim to prefigure what these wretched roadways should become -- long, straight, safe courses for human-powered transit! We claim these roads for bicycling! These rides will take the entire rightmost travel lane, and potentially more, depending on size -- the more people show up to ride together, the less individual bravery any one person needs to bring. Due to the current unsafety of these roads, these rides are not particularly recommended for younger children. The goal is to consistently move at ~12 mph, though we'll maintain whatever pace we need to stay together. The ride leader is an experienced road rider and will ride in the back as caboose/sweep with a brightly visible trailer. Snacks, waters, first aid kit, and bike tools will be on hand. We will follow road laws, but will prioritize staying together as a group, so corking would be welcome if the group size justifies it. This is a series of six rides on "unfriendly" roads -- demanding by action that no city streets should be unfriendly to people outside of cars! June 29, 3:00pm - 11th/12th-Milwaukie July 6, 5:00pm - Cesar Chavez July 12, 11:00am - Sandy July 20, 2:00pm - 82nd July 27, 10:00am - Powell August 3, 1:00pm - MLK Jr.

Welcome to THE *8th non-annual* ALLEY RIDE! (See an incredible IG video that BikePortland put together of last year's ride here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C84fL16JX_0/) We'll enjoy a semi-long ride (~13 miles) cruising at a moderate pace through the alleys of upper N/NE Portland. Wider tires are recommended for some chunky gravel and routine bumps! Take in the sights of beautiful murals, fun backyards, and weird things that are only found in alleys. Who knows what we'll come across - let's find out, together :) This is NOT a 'no drop' ride. The alleys are mostly great but sometimes rough, so please be prepared with a flat kit or be ready to take transit, etc. SPOILER ALERT! If you want to see the route ahead of time, here's the RideWithGPS link: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51144230 ~~~ NEW THIS YEAR! ~~~ This ride will officially 'end' at Alberta Park, where we will then kick-off our next ride, THE ALLEY RIDE ALLEY CAT ride. That ride will be a 'scavenger hunt' alley cat for individuals to race to locations that we just rode past to complete your manifest. Colonel Summers Park, SE Taylor & SE 17th Ave
Meet between the basketball courts and the splash pad
Avery Hill & Lois Leveen
Sun, Jul 20, 2025, 2:30 PM
2:30pm Meet / 3:00pm Play / 3:15pm Ride
Co-led by Avery Hill (on the tunes) and Lois Leveen (on the route). Bring your 'ukulele (or other bike-able acoustic instrument) and join our rolling jam to parks and public spaces around inner SE and NE Portland. Lois will lead you to each stop, where Avery will lead a few 3-chord songs for the group to play and sing, then we'll move on to our next jam spot. Songs are geared (haha) toward 'ukulele players, but other instruments and/or sing-along-ers are very welcome. Riding details: This will not be an arduous ride, and we will stick to bike-friendly streets. The ride is NOT a loop but the final stop is only a five-minute ride from the start. If you haven’t ridden with an instrument case on your back or your bicycle, give it a try before the ride so you find the right fit / position for you (tip: wear your instrument diagonally across your back to avoid hitting your helmet with it!) What to bring: Helmets and water bottles are strongly urged, as well as any snacks you may want to have on hand (no snack stops planned). You may want a towel or blanket to sit on at each jam spot if you don't like sitting directly on grass. We may also ride late enough that you’ll want your lights to ride home. In case of extreme heat or poor air quality, this ride will be rescheduled. Please check back for updates.

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop
Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Don't draw a bike, bike a drawing! Using state of the art technology, each rider will draw a colored line on a collaborative sketch just by riding around. It's magic, like Etch A Sketch, but the drawing dials are the wheels of your bike. How will the canvas affect our creativity? What are the limits and opportunities of this advanced new art medium? Bring a smartphone, and be prepared to "share your location." Your location will only be used to create this artwork and will not be accessed or stored beyond that. A method to mount your phone to your bike will allow to view the sketch in progress hands-free, but it's not necessary. Part of a series. Quick how to lead a ride tutorial before Mellow Mondays ride. Things we’ll cover, Theme creation, Creating the atmosphere you want, Sourcing support, Route planning, Speed, What if’s…… Then QnA. This is meant as a conversation opener and an opportunity to move towards leading your own rides. This will be lead by Moorland with occasional support. Brief Bio: NakedHearts has lead around 350 ish rides, with 100 ish different ride leaders, we’ve worked with local schools, government agencies, festivals, DJ’s, Bands, venues, parades, artist groups of all kinds and supported 100 ish other rides. So we have a little experience. But the all the experience just teaches caring about the ride and riders is what matters, and everything flows from there. For most people that comes naturally. Kiro (who’s only 8 years old) is considered the best ride leader and he cares about the ride and riders and having fun and that’s what makes him the best because that’s his focus. The mechanics of leading and organizing can seem daunting but it’s within reach of all of us.

Mellow Mondays by NakedHearts:PDX — for July 21st, ride leaders BiciBuds (Máximo & Bryson) have a special one planned. Grab your bunny ears, slap on some burger puns, and join us for a chill 12-mile cruise inspired by our favorite seaside grill family! We’ll be riding at an easy pace, playing songs & scenes from the show and laughing along to iconic scenes from Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene, and Louise. You don’t need to be a fan of the show, simply show up and be prepared for a hilarious time. Costumes highly encouraged - whether you’re a Beef Squatch, a Tina in heat, or just feelin’ your inner Linda scream (“ALRIIIIGHT!”), we want to see it! Expect good vibes, weird fun, and plenty of opportunities to buttloose. No one gets left behind - except maybe Teddy if he forgets his bike again. Store stop will be included and ride is a loop. Not a sober ride however please party responsibly and keep the safety of yourself and others in mind. These rides are intended to be a safe space. No hate or bigotry allowed but just don’t be a d*ck and be kind. We are all going through something so respect others and treat people like you’d want to be treated. Come out and have fun because we’re all just big kids on bikes.

🛼⚔️ Fantasy Medieval Skate Quest! 🏰🐉 Bridge City Skate is a local skate group that hosts weekly community rollouts around Portland. This July, we invite you to embark on a Fantasy Medieval Themed Skate, an evening of adventure, costumes, and wheel-powered questing around the waterfront. While the event is led by skaters, all wheels are welcome as long as everyone follows our basic community guidelines: be respectful, inclusive, and kind. No discrimination of any kind. Come as a princess, peasant, knight, rogue, wizard, dragon, faerie, mushroom, or enchanted broomstick. Whatever your character, bring your courage (and knee pads). This Social Skate is a relaxed 4.5-mile cruise around Portland’s waterfront, complete with story stops, dramatic die rolls, and a quest that unfolds as we skate. - Meet-Up: 7:00 PM - Location: South Meade St. & South Bond Ave. - Roll Out: 7:30 PM sharp - Theme: Fantasy Medieval, think cloaks, crowns, fake swords, and glittering potions The route includes the Tilikum Crossing and the docks on the east side. Both areas have handrails to help go down, but the ability to navigate hills is highly recommended. If you have no city skate experience we recommend you start with BCS's Sunday Flatground Skate instead. Costumes are encouraged (bonus points for foam weapons and magical accessories), but not required, just bring your sense of humor, your sense of wonder, and wheels that roll. The realm is in peril… and only you can complete the quest. 🧙♀️✨

End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements at 7:30. ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it's safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Viv, bicycle traffic instructor
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7pm. Trivia starts at 7:15pm.
8:30 PM
Educational ride, taught by a bicycling traffic instructor. I’ll assign you to trivia teams, and quiz you on bicycle safety. If we have a small group (5 people or less), we'll do all the trivia at the starting location. If we have a larger group, we’ll ride for short periods, and stop in various parks to do trivia questions, ending in the inner east side. You’ll leave this ride knowing how to recognize and avoid the top cause of bicycle crash (the right hook), and bicycle fatality (unsafe passing), as both a cyclist and a driver. It’ll help your trivia team if you read your Drivers Manual in preparation: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/forms/dmv/37.pdf It'll help if you review bike safety at: https://portlandbicycleschool.com/driving-around-bicycles/ This is a slow ride, paced for people learning to bicycle, and families with children. No one will be left behind. We’ll take bike lanes and greenways, to minimize interactions with drivers. Because Portland’s bicycle network is incomplete, there may be short, necessary portions of sharing larger roads, and we’ll stay together as a group for safety. This is a BikeLoud event. Bikeloud is Portland’s volunteer bike advocacy organization.

Starts at about 9, people roll in and out through around 11
We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. We post the location every Thursday on the PDX Coffee Outside website, which our friend Chris updates, and our Instagram account.

Ride at 10am
End location: Hillsboro Downtown Farmers Market
This will be a high traffic road ride like the previous ones. The goal is to bring cyclists together and show our government officials across Washington County, including Washco, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Bethany, and beyond that even though we're in the suburbs, our community is full of cyclists who deserve safe infrastructure too. Our leaders need to work together! We need infrastructure that makes riders and families feel safe—because when people feel safe, more will ride! All people and all wheels are welcome! Always stick to riding in the right lane. ------------- The party will kick off at Cascade Bikes in Beaverton at 9am! The closest Max station is the Beaverton Central Max stop (the round). We will depart at 10am and ride en-masse to Hillsboro, ending at the Hillsboro Farmers Market. The closest Max station at the end will be the Hillsboro Central/SE 3rd TC Max stop. The ride will be approximately 10 miles with a bathroom break near the middle. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51732700 ------------- This ride will abide by and follow the Shift Code Of Conduct. We are here to celebrate cycling in the West Suburbs, not to antagonize drivers, however we will be corking our ride to ensure the safety of our riders. What is Critical Mass? A mass bike ride and party-protest in cities all over the world, started 30 years ago in San Francisco! Critical Mass bike rides are not just about cycling, it's about reclaiming public space, celebrating community, and making a statement for sustainable urban living. Streets are not just for cars and large group rides help to assert bicyclists' right to ride in the streets and celebrate the bicycle as a form of transportation. There is strength and safety in numbers What is corking? Corking is when you use your bike & body as a wall to ensure the ride can pass through an intersection safely, to keep the group together. Remember, strength and safety in numbers! This ride may not be suitable for small kids on their own bikes as we may be on busy roads with traffic.

Meet at 11AM, roll at 11:30AM Calling all fans of Roman Mars - if you've wanted to know more about the streets and alleys of your city, this is the ride for you! My aim is to create a "99% Invisible, Live" experience. We'll explore the impact that human development and natural features have had on the streets of our city. Highways, streetcars, waterways, and housing development have all influenced the streets we ride our bikes on. This is not a "family friendly" ride per se (I don't know the first thing about leading a ride for tiny humans!) but children over the age of 12 might enjoy the content. I aim to share information at a middle-school level. We will ride at an 8-10 MPH pace and regroup at the top of hills. If you're interested in helping with sweeping and corking, please reach out to @architecturetourspdx on Instagram. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51334017

The Leif Erikson Trail is one of Portland's secret summer gems. 12 miles of bicycling on a shaded, north-facing forest road. It's a great place to be naked if you want cool shady conditions, and few onlookers. It's a steep climb up to Thurmon St to get to the trailhead, but from the start location for 12 miles to Germantown Road it's only moderately hilly, as the road mostly follows the contour lines. Packed gravel with rocks. It can be done on road bikes, but more comfortable with wider tires.

This is planned as a one-way ride, no organized return, but happy to discuss riding back together during the event. We will meet up at 6:00pm and then head off around 6:30pm following Rosa Parks to Willamette Blvd.

Carnival 5-8 pm; ride to WNBR leaves promptly at 8. Arrive early to get face and body paint.
End location: WNBR start point (Grant Park)
The World Naked Bike Ride is a protest, so let's ride together to protest the genocide in Palestine and the way that big oil (Chevron, specifically) has aided and profited from genocide. Come find Revolutionary Bicycle Club at Gays Eating the Rich in the Park (yes, it's happening again!), where we will have face & body paints to get everyone decorated and ready to ride together to WNBR as a Free Palestine/Boycott Chevron bloc. Please keep it PG until we leave Laurelhurst. If you're getting body paint with us, we recommend wearing a swimsuit or something similar that our painters can work around without you needing to bare it all. And of course there's no pressure to get naked at all– do what makes you comfortable. If you missed it the first time around, Gays Eating the Rich in the Park is a queer resistance carnival (hosted by Rose City Indivisible and PDX Queer Meetup) for folks who want to make new friends while raging at Trump piñatas. Don't forget to bring a potluck item and some clothes to swap. Masks encouraged; billionaires and ICE strongly discouraged (and liable to get eaten😋). The carnival is from 5-8 at Laurelhurst Park and Revolutionary Bicycle Club will be there the whole time and then roll out promptly at 8 to head to WNBR. Riders are welcome to part ways when we get to the start point of WNBR, but we encourage everyone to continue to ride with us in a protest bloc. Our message is stronger when we're together. Plus we'll have the good revolutionary music 🇵🇸🎵 Check out @rosecityindivisible and @pdxqueermeetup on IG for more details about the carnival, and follow @revolutionarybicycleclub for more info on bike rides.

**Update, June 19 -- This ride is happening!** **Not cancelling** **If it's cold we'll wear clothes ;^) Climate Change is making Portland summer nights almost unbearable. In the past, the air would cool at night. Providing refreshing respite from the heat. And allowing homes to cool off. Now the nights are routinely hot. We'll protest the lack of response by local and global leaders with a lighthearted protest ride. We'll stop at government agencies and call for decreases in greenhouse gas emissions. Also fossil fuel companies. Come roll around Portland and enjoy comfort in the only way possible -- bicycling naked! Bring signs and body paint if you have them! You can be naked, bare-as-you-dare, or clothed.

RIDE #5: POWELL BLVD Powell Goodwill to Powell Park, no pause - 3.5 miles, no loop.

Let’s ride to the Pickles Mascot Olympics game! Join us for a ride to Walker Stadium to see the Portland Pickles on their Mascot Olympics Night. We'll meet at Ladd's Circle and ride to Walker Stadium. The game starts at 6:05 (but it's usually more like 6:15). We'll plan on getting to the stadium at 5:45. It's just a little over 5 miles to the stadium. The ride will be a slow to moderate pace, around 8-10 MPH as it's a gradual uphill the majority of the ride. Obviously this ride doesn’t include tickets to the game. Getting tickets all in the same section can be challenging the closer it is to game day, but you can always choose to get tickets on the berms. As of 6/23/25, Section 203 has a lot of open seats all together which could be fun. After the game we'll ride back to Ladds but you are free to split off and go your own way home. * if you are coming with us please sign up to get a tattoo!! Nichole really wants one and if you don’t, maybe you’ll win and she can get yours 😆. https://www.portlandpicklesbaseball.com/tattoo-rsvp

Join us for a workshop to provide your input! If you can't make it, check out https://beavertonoregon.gov/GoBeaverton to give your feedback online. Everyone welcome! End location: It's a mystery!
Time to get off the beaten path on a weeknight adventure! We'll explore areas east of I-205, in search of the unpaved and the unknown. Expect some streets, paths, cut-throughs, and "is this really a public right of way" moments. Any bike should be able to do this ride, though wider tires (north of 32mm) would not hurt. This is no fast ride, instead a ramble at moderate speeds where we'll have the opportunity to stop and enjoy things. (No drop!) If you've been interested in an adventurous ride like this, but get intimidated by the fast pace that many of these rides take, try this one out. There will also be a store stop and an endpoint to watch the sunset. Ride not a loop. Note: While the start point and general vicinity is the same as last year's ride, the route and where we explore will be new.

My family doesn't get to visit from the Midwest very often, so I'm hosting a Pedalpalooza ride so that they can get the full Bike Summer experience. Bring your kiddos or pick up your kids from school after work, visit the fountain for a bit, and then let's do a simple loop around the Waterfront. We'll go from the Salmon Springs Fountain along Better Naito to the Steel Bridge, south onto the Eastbank Esplanade, and then back over the Hawthorne Bridge to our starting point. This will be a great ride for parents and kids who want to gain confidence in city riding without actually riding in the same place as cars, since we'll be in protected bike lanes or greenways the whole time. It will also be a great way for you to start your evening commute!

Meet 6:45 roll out 7:45ish
FKA Twosday Road Rascals but a slightly different approach. Taking back 2sDay is here and starting this summer for a ride every other week! We continue the tradition that started at the picnic tables at Irving park years ago. The torch has been passed and we’re back! Well be focusing different end spots then usual ones plus we’ll have new ride leads popping up thru summer so if you want to lead just ask! Party paced to swifter at times with regroups and a real no drop mentality. Meets at the picnic tables by the tennis courts or under the covered area if it rains. Meet around 7 for a 7:45 roll out! If you’re banned from other rides don’t come on this one. Pretty simple lol. Don’t be an asshole to others on the ride and traffic or pedestrians, respect people’s space consent and possessions. We strive to make this a safe place for all and welcoming to everyone 🖤🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✊

Meet up at 6:30 and ride up at 7pm
End location: The group will ride back to the starting point after every ride
Every Tuesday evening, meet up at 6:30 at Salmon Street Springs and ride up at 7pm for about 8-12 miles and end up at a local Taco Shop. The group will eventually loop back to the starting point. We will always try to bring the community to some of the most tasty places. Taco prices will vary at each location but we will try our best to find out places with the best deals every week. The taco shops for the week will be shared prior to the ride at the organizer’s Instagram account @VL.bicycles.original_1

End location: Goose Hollow Inn - 1927 SW Jefferson St, Portland, OR 97201
The Father of Molecular Biology. The Vitamin C guy. Winner of not one but TWO Nobel Prizes. The man, the myth, the Portland-born legend: Linus Pauling. Join us in celebrating this enigmatic public figure with a chill, no-drop (<10 mph) ride. We'll hit a slew of secret Linus spots, including but not limited to Linus Pauling's boyhood home, his alma mater Washington HS, and the Goose Hollow Inn. Emergen-C packets will be made available for important hydration and nutritional purposes. Ride is about 8 miles from Ladd's to Goose Hollow (not a loop). We'll end right by Goose Hollow MAX station if you want to transit it back to East Side afterwards. Also, we'll be making a stop at Revolution Hall at Mile 5 -- if you're wanting a shorter ride, that'll be an easy place to dip out.
